Please watch these important videos so you can understand what is happening to Halo. THEY ARE NOT MY VIDEOS. It’s not a rant about game mechanics as much as it is a constructive criticism about what developers are doing to their franchises.

Just to add, (this isn’t necessarily relevant to the videos, please focus your primary attention on the videos), my problems with Halo 5 are as follows:
-Lack of customization options for Spartans. This includes:
Bad armor colors. (Beta had better) - Lack of additional armor piece customization. - Less options for emblem customization.Note: This makes me feel like my Spartan no longer has an identity that I am proud of in Halo. I can’t create the emblem I’ve carried for ten years. I had to change my armor colors to something I’m not happy with. And my armor is no longer a mix of pieces I like.
-Custom games options are lacking compared to other Halo games.
We cant change the types of weapons that spawn on the map - We cant add bonus points for anything besides kills, suicides, and betrayals - We cant select “Random” as a weapon choice (No more fiesta) - We cant make the secondary weapon “None.” - We cant change or remove vehicle spawning - We cant modify players ability to use vehicles. - We cant force colors on players - We cant apply visual effects to players (over shield, speed boost, damage boost, flood) - We cant change weapon damage - Respawn traits are gone - Leader traits are gone - We cant set unlimited ammo or bottomless clip on weapons (The swat game type that’s in matchmaking isn’t actually possible to recreate using the slayer game type in custom games because of this) - We cant set custom game file descriptionsNote: If you are like me, and custom games were very important to you during the days of Halo 3, then you WILL find trouble when you are trying to recreate some of your most favorite gametypes due to these limitations. Gametypes that millions of people have enjoyed, have to be made a different way because of these limitations. I can think of several gametypes that I remember enjoying that I now have to figure out how to recreate in a different way. This is a MAJOR inconvenience at best. I just feel that we deserve the full package. Which includes the level of customization that previous games had. Features shouldn’t be taken out. There is no logical need to remove features from a game like this. Should just be evolutionary additions rather than substractions + additions.
-Matchmaking lobby is atrocious. You can’t see other people’s gamercards or rank post game, which was always a fun thing to do. Also, this renders stances pretty useless if people can’t see them.
No forge or filesharing at launch. This is a problem when you consider that Fallout 4 and Battlefront will be released before forge and filesharing are released. The community will already begin to dwindle by the time features are added. Not a good move by 343. I should feel like I have a full game from launch. Why is 343 taking away from us? I am extremely happy with the return to arena style halo. I can say that to me, this is my favorite Halo matchmaking experience since Halo 3. However, The rest of the game is lacking significantly. When you take away features, you ruin the chance for old Halo gamers like my self to be able to recreate the fun we had with previous games. Also, the community will move on quicker than ever before without the full game at launch. One thing I’m happy with is the Spartan company feature. This is something similar to what we had on bungie.net starting in 2007 with Halo 3, and it brought millions of people together and added longevity to the game. But why not take it a step further and also return online file sharing/downloading and all that cool stuff too?
ONE FINAL THOUGHT: I really enjoy the matchmaking mechanics. I am happy to see a return to arena style Halo. Don’t get me wrong people. This is the best matchmaking experience since Halo 3. But We are missing the full package. And I expected to get my moneys worth. I will no longer be able to buy Halo games on release dates due to this. Instead, I will thoroughly research every game before buying it. I am severely disappointed with the features that were cut from the game.
I’ll add more to this post when I think of things to add.

So the MP will have the lowest population to date because the customs community doesnt have as many options… ok.
Yeah, I dont think the people who buy the game for MP matchmaking care that they cant set spawn traits.

You didn’t watch the videos. I said “Just to add”. What I wrote in my post doesn’t have much to do with the videos. So please, watch them and don’t be so quick to post.

Nope not watching your click bait videos trying to get views on youtube. I don’t really care about armor customization and why should I? You can’t even really see your own character unless on a turret. I care about the important stuff like game play and weapons.

Disregard my personal complaints on missing features, this thread is about what is said in the two videos, which are made by two people other than myself that I have no connection to.

I couldn’t disagree more, honestly. CS:GO is very popular now, both with casual players and pros, while Source was the game that most 1.6 players, causal or pro, said was a pretty big step down.

This is the most fun I’ve had playing halo in a long time … Sure not as good as halo 3 for me but that might a bit of nostalgia from all the good high school memories.
I’m listening to the first video a little and I heard him say that forge has been down graded. Honestly everything I’ve seen about forge looks absolutely amazing.

I agree with you, I think he was a little misinformed on that aspect. Or maybe he wasn’t talking about Halo 5’s forge. Not sure. But the other topics in the video are relevant.

I agree. The return to arena gameplay is a great thing. I just feel that we deserve the full package. Which includes the level of customization that previous games had.
