EDIT: had to write this here: PLEASE WATCH IT, LISTEN TO IT, MAKE YOURSELF AN IDEA AND THEN REPLY.
I randomly stepped into this video and it basically says:
Halo 5’s got bad reviews because 343 doesn’t care about what the community says and just wants to sell you more Halo, and I do agree with it, please watch it, listen to it and then reply, it is 8 minutes long, nothing hard.
I’ll also post here my previous threads as they are reviews on the game and contain advices to improve for the future games, I’d be very happy if you’ll take some time to read them, I really challanged myself to make them the best I could:

Well people had a natural repulsory reacion to Halo 4 because of artstyle and gameplay changes but 343 kept the artstyle in Halo 5 and moved the gameplay changes of Halo 4 to Warzone (Classes and perks). Other than that, they were not content and made an awful work on the story. Gameplay is my favourite in the series though

Pretty much, and it shows that 343i just doesn’t understand Halo and its community. Many things in Halo 4 were good, and could have been kept (mainly story elements), but they had to just go and throw everything away and create a game that failed just as badly, despite having its merits. Throwing away the competitive crowd in Halo 4 was a terrible mistake, but doing a complete 180 and ignoring the social community in Halo 5 is just as bad. The gameplay in Halo 5 is great, sure, but so much stops it from really being a great game. 343i needs to take a long look at what made Bungie’s Halos so well received and follow that winning formula instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

Halo 5 was like Titanfall back in the day; Thought to be over-hyped and the community expected so much more. Welp, game comes out, and the gaming community is disappointed at the fact that their “hyped-up” game isnt 4 generations higher than it should be. So, game gets low ratings and horrible reviews by Youtubers and Critics alike, just cause they keep thinking ahead. THEN all the people who read and hear about these reviews say the same thing as well, even though they never actually tried the game (Because we are humans…).
I actually like this game (And Titanfall…), and personally hate how other people follow the critics. This game was a step-up, and while it does have its problems…well, so did every other game.
Basically…the gaming community as a whole just sucks.
Halo, and many other games, have bad reviews because the majority go online to be yoinks. Also I think 343 listens to the community. just because they don’t listen to every one doesn’t mean they don’t listen. They, nor will any company, ever please everyone. people complained halo 4 was way to casual and we hated the load outs in multiplayer… well Halo 5 is more competitive and has equal starts. people complained about no btb they added it quickly, sure it e as forge but at least it was there and it got an awesome refresh. people complained about no classic maps so they added COMMUNITY made remakes, has any other studio added COMMUNITY made stuff into multiplayer? We had a firefight beta, people complained it was “to easy” and well we got a harder version when it released… sounds like they listen to me.

Something I’ve noticed about 343 is that they tend to work in extremes. I don’t think they know what a middle ground is.
For example:
Player feedback for the WZFF Beta generally indicated that it was rather easy, save for one or two waves. 343 proceeds to amp up the difficulty to over 11 for the final product, making it overly difficult.

Follow the leader…
Like mcc haters, it DID have issues early on.
But not for everyone, and the >reviews< discouraged people.
And it made people believe it was bad, before they even played.
I never had any issues accept one that halo 3 always had with online co-op campaign lag.
And one h2a achievement.
I’ve heard that Halo 5 had a Destiny style cut and rewrite. Plus, there was a big effort to fix the Halo engine that took most of the development time. So I have full faith that Halo 6 will be amazing in every regard.

> How do you exactly think it was a step-up?
Its a step-up more so on the fact that it goes farther into the future, with its whole movement mechanics and new weapons. Sure, it isnt exactly the best, but you have to admit that if Halo just stayed the same the entire time with the only thing different being enhanced graphics, that would be pretty disapointing. And, community wise, we would not only be stuck playing the same game over and over again, but people will see that it isnt “evolving” (Pun not intended), and lose interest quickly, and thats more on the ones who are new to Halo.

Well, evolving doesn’t mean 343 has to canghe things just for the sake of doing it. In fact the only thing that I like of Halo 5 is the gameplay, the weapons sandobx you mentioned, I hate it, it is homogenized like most of FPS games, it is all explained in this thread of mine: Halo 5: a broken dream or a phoenix for Halo? And more evidence of the fact that Halo 5 made lots of things wrong is that the Coalition didn’t change things that were already perfect in the previous Gears of War titles and made an awesoe job on Gears of War 4! Halo 5: details count! (Gears of War 4 comparison)

the multiplayer and the lack of content was based on MCC issues. That is where I’ve seen a lot of backlash is coming from by what I have seen. Yeah the story needed work compared to the first game they have done, but that is easily fixable.
