Many people have noted the similarities between Halo 5 and Advanced Warfare: sprint, ground pound, slide, thruster, clamber, embracing the Z-axis in combat, hovering, faster kill times, teammate call-outs, making the default button layout use LT for ADS, ADS decreases bullet spread for automatic weapons, making K/D ratio visible (it even has the COD sprint animation and the zoom looks like COD ADS even though it obscures much of the screen). Driftor has a parody video of this on YouTube that is worth watching.
I believe the reason for this is that 343 wants as many COD players as possible to buy Halo 5 so they are making the multiplayer as close as possible to Advanced Warfare while still retaining enough elements of Halo for it to be considered a Halo game so that when Halo 5 comes out, the Advanced Warfare community will be able to make a smooth transition to Halo 5 since it plays just like the game they came from and not go back to the newest COD like they did with Halo 4. Why not go after a bigger market since Halo fans will buy the game anyway?
Halo has been going after the COD community ever since MW2 came out in order to bring back all the Halo players that left to play that game and I think that is the day classic Halo died (no sprint, no ADS, no loadouts, symmetrical maps, dominant mid-range weapon, high skill-gap).

I would say that Advanced Warfare copied Titanfall, not Halo 4. Microsoft and Activision have a long-term partnership so they know what each company is making before it is revealed to the public. Even the subtitle “Guardians” is the name for the characters in Destiny for a reason.
Halo 5 is the EQUIVALENT of Gears Of War Judgment with it being so generic. You would think a development studio would listen to the community…Oh wait, 343 doesn’t develop anything, it is a marketing firm shooting videos for Halo Channel in a studio that is not even being used.
Everything is outsourced. You are buying a TITLE and a NAME made by NOBODY at 343.
After 100 games in the beta, this game is a re-skinned copy of Advanced Warfare. Coming from a Prestige Master in Advanced Warfare. Not one person on my friends list is buying Halo 5 or 343 for that fact after the Master Thief Collection.

Yeah, 343i certainly didn’t listen to the community when they removed armor abilities and loadouts, brought back descope, added Relic and ODST to the MCC alongside numerous patches, edited the hitmarker noise after community feedback, etc. Your claim has no basis and is simply incorrect.
Halo 5: Guardians is developed by 343i. Again, you’re simply wrong and really are grasping at straws in an attempt to create some form of an argument.
Good for you and your friends. My friends and many other people have differing stories with their experience with the game, and I’m very excited to play.

…Are we seriously still doing this? The term Guardians in Halo 5 refers to Didact’s line in Halo 4: “We are Forerunners, Guardians of all that exists.” And Halo 5’s thruster mechanics are based on Halo 4’s thruster, not AW, they’re not going to share company secrets with each other. Activision publishes on Xbox but they’re still competitors because they are game publishers as well.

How blinded by hatred are you? 343i developed Halo 5 internally with a team of pro Halo players as reference and testers. MCC was outsourced precisely because they couldn’t divert resources from Halo 5. And it doesn’t play like AW, unless AW has equal starts arena combat with weapons on map, map control is key with extended kill times and recharging energy shields. Also does AW still have killstreaks? Do you see any killstreaks in Halo 5?
How come Halo4 doesn’t get credit for the Z-axis thrusters or faster kill times?
How come Reach or Battlefield don’t get credit for naming our areas for us?
How come Destiny doesn’t get credit for the ground pound or the running slide?
How come Battlefield doesn’t get credit for team callouts?
How come Unreal doesn’t get credit for sprinting… Or naming areas for us?
One must wonder how Halo can copy so much from a game that has apparently copied not only others, but Halo as well.

AW brought all of that together and now Halo is bringing their version of that list put together a whole year after AW did it.
No one is saying that AW invented all of that but they are putting out the package that AW just put together.

Facts aren’t wrong. Not seeing the similarities makes one seem uneducated…but hey, who am I to argue with someone who clearly has more experience being dimmer than me? And I can be pretty obtuse, but this game is a copy paste job, more see it that way than not, what I have said is truth, and to end you have 40 friends, I have over 300. Who will get more sales? You or me? Exactly. The End.

Out of coincidence. Halo 5 started development before Halo 4 shipped, all of the design specifications that you see were already there at least a full year before AW was even announced. There’s no reason to think they’re copying anyone. The mechanics of Halo 5 are explicitly stated to have been born out of the thruster pack’s popularity.

Obviously that was before November 2012 when Halo 4 was released, and Halo 5 was Beginning Dev Cycle at launch or right before Halo 4 release.
Correct? Why yes it is.
Go brush up on facts before you spew your nonsensicle garbage.
Halo 5 probably started mid 2012 at earliest. Some people just talk and have no idea what they are saying. Stop watching youtube for your education and learn facts before rattling off.
When I am wrong I admit it… No reason not to, but then again me being wrong is rare.
Sorry if I seem rude, but the ignorance spewing from fingertips is annoying to say the least. Hopefully I have helped your video game knowledge education. The facts are there if you look for them instead of being a copy paste job yourselves. No offense.

So much this. People tend to think so very short term when it comes to these things and the Halo/COD comparisons have been going on as far back as ODST when they removed the energy shields and lowered the jump height because we were playing as ODSTs and not spartans. It continued in Reach and H4 with loadouts, armor abilities, and ordinance drops being compared to classes, perks, and killstreaks, and it will of course continue in H5 because people never seem to learn the cycle that they are a part of.
Whats funny is by this time next year no one will even remember the H5/AW controversy. They will be comparing H5 to whatever COD treyarch releases next year and be screaming about how halo apparently copied that game as well.

Wrong, 343 had no idea that COD would have these features while they were developing halo. I doubt 343 had government spies sneak into activision headquarters to see COD in development.
Learning logic is also important before spewing information from your fingertips. Don’t get me wrong, I do think 343 needs to do some adjusting, but your statement does not hold up as an argument.
