Hello Waypoint users,
Do you remember back in '10 how many people were calling Reach garbage? Well now that we look back on it, Reach wasn’t so bad after all was it? Halo 4 may have better graphics, but remember the Scarabs in 2/3? Halo 4 has removed a great deal of things that we expect from a Halo game, and I almost wish Halo 4 had never been made. Did you know Reach’s population has actually gone up since Halo 4 was released? I am extremely impressed that Reach is still alive, and even Halo 3 hasn’t been completely abandoned after 5 years of play. I can say with confidence that Halo 4 has removed many competitive aspects of H2/H3/Reach and has a CoD XP system. Custom Games in 3/Reach had more gametypes and Reach had a better forge. It’s almost ridiculous how many playlists they’ve removed from matchmaking and from customs. You have to admit that you might have had more fun in the past playing these games. Halo 4 is all flash, graphics and trailers to pull you in. But it has no lasting appeal. They got rid of perfection medals and all these small things that make it feel rushed. It feels like we paid $60 to play a beta. Reach may have been a little rushed, but Halo 4 just has so many issues. My rant is over now, but I have to ask if anyone agrees that Bungie should have been the only ones making a game with the word “Halo” on it. I wil probably play Reach considering it’s significantly higher population than Halo 3. So if anyone else wants to go back to a real Halo game, you’re not alone. Anyone who stays can keep complaining about Halo 4 on the forums, and Europeans I highly suggest boycotting Halo 4 because of the discrimination 343 has been giving all of you.

I would say the poll options are kind of flawed. I would pick CE/2/3 are better but i would also pick the wanting Bungie back option and currently would also pick the I’m never playing Halo again option. I can only pick one 
I do agree on some points, but overall its just nostalgia that blocks everyone’s minds. This community is as bad as World of Warcraft’s, “Wrath of the Lich king? BC was better!, Cata? WOTLK was better! MOP? Cata was better!” Its just a never ending cycle.

Why do people use this excuse to defend Halo 4. Maybe people say the previous Halos were better because…THEY WERE BETTER. I could list why they were better but I’m not going to waste my time talking to a Halo 4 fanboy AKA “the death of Halo” fans

How DARE you put Reach with the trilogy. That game can burn in hell. H4 is waaaay better than that, but not the trilogy.
I think i am of the few players from Halo’s beginnings who isn’t blinded by nostalgia. Halo 4 has a ton of problems but it’s hard to compare Halo games when each and everyone has been different to some degree or another. In fact, i genuinely like/love Halo 4 and unlike Reach, the potential isn’t entirely wasted.
We can sit on our butts here all night/morning debating this on our smartphones/keyboards/tablets but in the end it’s just a cycle that keeps repeating itself. You have your favorites and i have mine. I can’t help that i find many aspects of Halo 4 to be appealing but i am not just going to forget that previous Halo games were this apex of perfection because they most certainly required TUs.
EX: I like Halo 2 but you give me reasons why CE or 3 was a better game. I debate this with you and you disagree by either using logic or my previous stats against me in an attempt to dismiss my claims while i do the same to yours. Then the argument becomes stale and we found ourselves back where we started; only more bitter and narrow minded.

The Armor variants in Reach were the best looking ones of all Halo game IMO.
Does anyone remember how HUGE the launch of Halo 3 was?

If you were just saying that then that’s fine. But this thread is about what made other Halos better. So your point doesn’t help.

Halo 4 is the best Halo game that has ever been made.
Hey, anyone remember that time Bungie made a demo of a Halo game and then realised they hadn’t made a game yet? And then had to rush to make one? And documented that on a DVD they gave away with the game?
Sorry, but Halo games all have flaws. CE repeated itself backwards, and had the Library. Halo 2 was a buggy mess of a game that got rushed. Halo 3 had so many visual effects layers it looked SD due to them having to lower the resolution to make it all fit. ODST was supposed to be an expansion, not a game. Reach… I like, anyway. Many do not share that.
Look, throughout the history of Halo people have done this. They just weren’t as annoying. Whining has become an art form on here, and I’m tired of it. Grow up.
