Why Halo 4 is so different.

No high skill rating, joining in late games, custom loadouts( not all that bad ) Where did the competitiveness of halo go. the high skill rating is what made halo, halo, and made the game so much more fun to play. I dont know what is happening, id do anything for there to be ranked and social and high skill. let me know what you think

This is not the only reason. There are plenty others that I will not list because I’m a lazy bum but there are TONS of threads on them.

i know im lazy too its just a little disappointing im a big halo 2 and 3 fan

Welcome to the unfortunate age of gaming where youngins don’t like being told that they aren’t as good as they think they are, where no one dare be punished for making a mistake on matchmaking, and where everyones gets a googleplexes worth of medals for doing something which isn’t extraordinary.

I agree about the medals.

I understand why they introduced some. For example, the generic so it could count towards the OD. Road trip and High Flyin are fun medals and are OK. The Dominion, Extraction, CTF medals are worth having.

Distraction…not really…nor the generic assist medal or teh OD medal etc.

What should never have been removed are the weapon spree medals, the vehicle splatter medals and, the Perfection medal. All should make a return for Halo 5. All that needs to be done is to have a higher XP cap to allow for the return of the medals and extra points people will earn, so,just make it longer to rank up. The medal points only impact an individual and not the game.

I remember when I was younger playing Halo 3 complaining about how dumb and unfair my deaths were. The only difference is that now I can actually prove those claims.

Funny Halo CE is arguably the most competitive Halo title for many and it had no ranks, no skill matching and no online play. Curious indeed.

Personally I’d like to see the Halo 3 social/ranked for in game rank make a return with Halo 5 but I’m happy with Waypoint for CSR for Halo 4. Something had to change from all the cheating in Halo 2/3 and the lack of uptake for Reach’s Arena.

Maybe Halo 5 will hit the sweet spot for a global solution.
