Why halo 4 actually looks amazing! And how this community is insane.

First of all, I cannot express just how disappointed I am in this community. 30 seconds of total gameplay and all the sudden the forums are on fire.
All these threads that say “H4 is ruined, why 343 sucks blah blah blah” that’s enough! Have a little bit more faith. In case you haven’t noticed the primary members are an experienced and diverse team of industry professionals that all happen to be Halo fans. 343i is the first game company ever to attempt what they are doing and in such a grand scale.

Now then, rant finished. On to the better news and reasoning behind why Halo 4 is shaping up to be great.

  1. Battle rifle is back AND it is hitscan. The competitive community has been asking for this FOREVER! 343’s first step in supporting the competive community.
  2. Maps are unique, not recycled from campaign. This in my opinions was Bungie’s biggest failure in Halo Reach multi player.
  3. Custom load outs… The people that assume that means that you will spawn with rocket launchers and shotguns are idiots. It probably means that you will be able to choose what primary weapon you start with (Battle Rifle, Assault Rifle, Carbine, DMR etc.) I don’t know about you but It drives me nuts when people vote for assault rifles and I get stuck with that junk.
  4. Health packs are apparently gone…good, that ruined the flow of multiplayer… It makes sense in single player but NOT multi player.
  5. Perks… Dunno what that exactly means but assuming it means that your armor has different functions that sounds cool… And remember there will always be a default playlist that plays like vanilla halo…343i has proven that they are willing to support different game types in MP. I noticed that people around here don’t like sprint… Hello, sprint makes sense, Spartans can run pretty damn fast. As long as Armorlock (Bungie’s 2ndbiggest MP failure) isn’t included then everything should be fine.
  6. They are going for a more cinematic approach to single player with a focus on the Narrative. Hopefully this means a character driven story that isn’t the catastrophic failure that Halo Reach’s bland dumb story is.
  7. Last but not least: GRAPHICS. They look damn pretty. Not Uncharted 3 level graphics but certainly best on Xbox 360… Halo hasn’t exactly been a graphics powerhouse since Halo 2. That clearly is changing…

My final point is that this is a halo game made by halo fans. I frankly have more faith in 343 than I ever did in Bungie.

Can’t believe you call perks and costum loadouts as good things.

I agree with all your points.

However let me summarize what this topic is going to turn into:

a few posts agreeing with you, maybe adding constructive feedback, what they’d like to see in the next Halo

and then a ton of posts from the competitive people saying

Agreed.

  1. How could you think this is in any shape, way, or form, a good thing? It ruins the even sandbox that everyone starts out with the same thing.

  2. Been clarified these will not appear and was just a misinterpretation.

Other than that, I agree with you.

> 3. How could you think this is in any shape, way, or form, a good thing? It ruins the even sandbox that everyone starts out with the same thing.

Did you not read it? All it changes is what primary weapon you start with… You can choose a BR and squash all the noobish noobs that choose AR… I hate AR starts and this will fix that.

Couldn’t agree more. The only thing that I want to see work differently is armor abilities. And that isn’t even a big concern to me. Keep up the good work 343!

I’m happy, real am. Just a couple of party poopers that are yelling and acting you know… -Yoink!- xD.

> Can’t believe you call perks and costum loadouts as good things.

It’s is this type of people who ruin the community.

Hold your horses and see how 343i implements this system. It could be for the better.

Do you not see how hypocritical it is to say that we don’t have the right to not like something based on the amount of information available, but you have the right to like it given the same information?
And the whole “it’s made by Halo fans” point is lame. The Halo community is split down the middle between competitive and casual. It’s like saying a new bill in congress will be appreciated by everyone because it’s made by Americans, rather than saying their political affiliations. Same thing applies here, competitive players don’t want the game made by casuals and casuals don’t want the game made by competitive players.

> Can’t believe you call perks and costum loadouts as good things.

Why call them bad things. We don’t have any info yet, so we should have a open mind. (But I agree that if not implemented properly (and it will be very difficult to do so) it could possibly ruin the game.) But until further info: Don’t judge the book by the cover.

One little thing can set a gamer off, apparently. We can’t be sure about anything until we actually play the game.

If everyone can start with it the even ground is still in tact. Its about making the best choice for YOUR level of Skill.

Plus Hit Scan BR? why would you pick anything else, if I have the BR and you start with the AR by choice, my friend, your going to die.

> Can’t believe you call perks and costum loadouts as good things.

My my, what a closed mind you have there.

Whatever 343i does, I’m happy. I can’t wait for a new halo to take the market from C.O.D. and I can’t wait to see the changes.

Fixed.

Liked the post though. You’re right.

The forums are active because there is stuff to discuss. Doesn’t matter how many seconds of sprint they showed. regrdless, there’s going to be sprint, which really isn’t a problem, but the armor abilities shouldn’t be in the main playlists. I think the kids that want the new stuff rather, should get to play a specific playlist with all the new stuff, since the competitive can’t stand it at all, but the casuals are indifferent and can do without it.

I wouldn’t mind seeing it split into a bunch of classic and a bunch of neocore playlists, Like ranked and social in H3. The ranked would obviously be the classic one.

Your argument on the custom loadouts is kind of tipsy don’t you think. You like custom loadouts so you don’t have to deal with the people who want to use the weapon they want, I liked halo 3 because of the fact that if you don’t like the weapon you spawned with you had to pick one off the map. If I’m in a game and want to my favorite gun the AR (which apparently makes me a noob) its gonna be pretty aggravating when I’m forced to use the BR because I’m being demolished by 4 shots.(depending on weapon damage in the game) But i fully agree with everything else on your list.

If you.don’t like your starting weapon, whether it be in a loadout or none, just simply get something of the map like you said.
