Nowadays, the Halo 3 servers have a low population, mostly made up of noobs. But that’s not bad. A month, I logged onto Halo 3 servers, and CRUSHED THE ENEMY! MUHAHAHA! THEY HAVE TASTED OBLIVION! Ok. I’m don’t channelling the spirit of O’Malley (Anyone get that? Anyone?). It’s a noob harvest. Slayer BRs, on Guardian, I get a plasma rifle, and if grav hammer guys come, I take down their shields then pop them in the head with the BR. Everyone else I just charge and use the Plasma rifle to take down their shields, then punch them. These guys were pounding me with BRs and I didn’t die because they shot worse than me (scarily, that is possible) So, all you classic players, get on the Halo 3 Servers, and harvest those noobs!
On a more serious note, Halo 3 servers are still up, and infection is still popular, as well as social slayer. Seriously, let’s boost the population, and keep those servers going. If enough people log on, the server may become a place where you actually have good players.

I ran out of live on the 360, so I can’t, but most of the people on here are old enough that they can afford xbox 360 live, so while I can’t because of moneys issues, most peoples can
Halo 3 servers… I think you mean Xbox 360s? Halo 3 uses peer to peer networking which means there are no dedicated servers. As long as Xbox Live as a service is being supported, Halo 3 will always be up.
If you try playing ranked playlist in Halo 3 you will probably end up facing boosters, cheaters, or a combination of the sort.

All old titles fall victim to cheaters and booters (Halo Reach Grifball, I’m looking at you!). If only Halos “dedicated servers” made a difference, it’s minute if you ask me.

halo 3 just cant die, even if it does, there will still be one person online

Exactly this, still played some nice matches in social slayer. Well, I’m not that skilled, sometimes I get slaughtered continuously. Too bad that I never ever see any of the maps from the map packs (even the ones that are free). Population of the playlists where the DLC is required are always empty.
