Well first off i liked it much more in Halo 3 when wins meant something example: In Halo 3 the only way to get EXP was to win games i enjoyed trying to capture the flag on Valhalla and Sandtrap, but now in Reach i don’t ever try for objectives because there is no point to trying you don’t get anything out of winning and when i do decide to try for an objective a can’t ever get it because nobody else trys so it’s pointless.
Secondly the BTB maps in Halo 3 were kick -Yoink- compared to the garbage in Reach the only decent big team map in Reach is Breakpoint and i’ve never played it once in BTB only in the DLC playlist. Now the Halo 3 maps such as: Standoff, Valhalla, Sandtrap, Avalanche, Sandbox, Rat’s Nest, and Zanzibar all rocked. Those -Yoink- community maps aren’t cutting it either they all suck and they all have the same dull boring vehicles two hobs and two ghost and occasionally a arial vehicle.
Thirdly the they took out my single favorite thing in all of Halo 3 BTB, they got rid of BTB heavy i will never know why, especially because i Reach they have some many weapons and vehicles that they could probably make it better then Halo 3’s Heavy (though not likely) you never get to use the Guess Warthog hardly ever get to use the Banshee and even more rarely get to use the Scorpion (Tank). They also got rid of Splockets which was really fun to play that occasionally.
Armor Abilities make it broken as well but that’s a whole different subject.
In reach all i play is btb. I get sick of the very tiny maps that they give us in slayer, and feel that there is not many players in the game to complete it. BTB all the way.

This is the Halo Reach Thread, Halo 3 is a different category
I loved Halo 3 BTB for a lot of reasons. The biggest one being that the vehicles were more balanced in Halo 3. I loved the Halo 3 vehicle health system.
In Reach… the vehicle balance is all over the place. And Snipers and DMRs killing vehicles just pisses me off. The Banshee is obviously overpowered, the Warthog flips too easily, etc.

The Gauss Hog suffers from a bug were it can shoot through walls, mainly forge placed one.
A majority of BTB games take place on Forge World, making Heavy Gametypes near to impossible to carry on.

They could just patch it or put it on a map like Spire or Boneyard.
Yeah, the weapons being anti-everything don’t help vehicles. DMR has too much range for BTB. Needed to be a few on map and pick ups with AR pistol starts.
However, Twizzsted, campaign took maps from multiplayer. Not the other way around.

either way, two maps that look 90% identical is boring

Your posting is all over the place labeling positives and negatives of H3, I assume your posting this in response to people who enjoy Reach, so my response is going to be the blunt: H3 BTB had maps that were geared towards H3. The new maps available in Reach are a collection of maps from all predecessor games. They took BG from H1, Coag. from H2, Breakpoint is just an updated version of Avalanche with 120% better graphics and gameplay as a result. Highlands CTF was BUILT for giving all vehicles the cover and overall, options for players to infiltrate the enemies base undetected and make a successful run through the teleporter for teammates to back them up with the flag. I’ll just wrap this up with: the game titles changed and I’m guessing you expected another H2/3, I’m not going to apologize for this, just that you please stop attempting to trash a game that has earned its place as one of the best FPS of all time and better, as well as worse, then its predecessors. I sincerely hope you have a good day…

Are you serious? Avalanche: Snowy, Bases on either sides of the map divided by a LARGE center structure that you can go through at 2 points, A large road that goes around to the other side should you not want to use the center path through the middle structure.

Well there was no spine on Avalanche and that’s a big part of Breakpoint, there were a ton of lift on the outer ring of Avalanche, and Avalanche actually had bases where Breakpoint doesn’t (Only One and it’s not really a base). And Breackpoint is asymmetrical and Avalanche was, and both bases on Avalanche had a Wraith/Tank where it’s neutral on Breakpoint.

ohh my goooooood have you ever heard of a spiritual successor map? Of COURSE avalanche isnt JUST like breakpoint down to the detail.
its like how GUARDIAN is just like LOCKOUT. They arent the SAME but the newer one was INSPIRED by the last one =)
big team vehicles in reach dont work because for vehicles have overpowered guns and underpowered health.
Learn how to use a DMR, you’ll find yourself going 25/3 every game of big team if you just use the dmr.
It’s a real shame how broken BTB is, because maps like Breakpoint and Highlands have serious potential and could have been right up with the best BTB maps in the franchise if proper gameplay was in place.
> It’s a real shame how broken BTB is, because maps like Breakpoint and Highlands have serious potential and could have been right up with the best BTB maps in the franchise if proper gameplay was in place.
And if they showed up more often.
Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever played a DLC map in Reach BTB.
I’ve seen Breakpoint twice in BTB. The first time was shortly after release, and Gamesager was on the other team. I chose not to participate. The second time was one flag and it was great.
