I have my competitive side and my casual side and this feature would cater to both of them.
Competitive players will find many creative uses for a Bots Mode, like warming up before MM, testing weopons they never use, hit boxes, headshots, sniping, or just trying things out that they would never try in MM. You can 1v1 with someone while having 3 other bots fight for you, making it a 4v4.
Forgers would really love a Bot Mode to test drive their new maps with bots if they can’t find players. I don’t know how many times I was stuck with a 2v2 play test on my BTB maps.
Casuals: It’s good practice for casuals, and a good way for casuals to enjoy MM without getting owned and tea bagged every game. It’s also fun to play a 2v12 (me and my buddy vs 12 bots set to normal)<------That is some casual fun right there. I have a few friends that hate MW3, BF3, and Reach because they don’t have a combat training mode, so they stay on Black Ops all day. Sad.
Everyone: It’s useful for everyone, because what happens when your internet goes out? You can play MM with bots.
Overall it would be a cool feature that would be used to death by people like me, and there’s a lot of people like me out there. I’m just one of the few on these forums, so I speak for them.

You need to remember that games like Black Ops are very simple.
< Point and Shoot.
Halo is a mixture of, Shoot, Melee, Drive…etc
A.i. will never work in Halo because it just wouldn’t make sense.
Theres too much going on for a script.
Theres to many situations that would need to be coded…
For Multiplayer Ai, 343 would have to devote alot of time for a game mode only noobs will play.

Um, the game has been in development for 3 years, what if 343 already came up with complex AI, and this AI is also featured in campaign so you can have better enemies and allies. Programing an AI that will pick up a weapon if its more powerful, and to use it at the right range shouldnt be that hard for 343. Also, how is it for noobs? What, when is training and trying to get better without having to hear people say “OMG you suck so bad go jump off a cliff” (I’m not kidding I actually heard that a couple of times, main reason why I keep my mic on mute) noobish? Or do you just call it nobbish because its from Call of Duty? To me, the bot mode is one of the few good things of Black Ops.

The bots don’t have to be human player perfect, just enough to seek out and destroy each other. Kind of like FF AI, but coded like deadly marines with power armor. I bet they already have bots for testing. It’s just a matter of getting 343 to include them in the game.
Call of Duty has poor map design that allows for AI.
Halo 4 maps do not allow for AI, that much I can tell.
Why do you think your always boxed in while playing Cod? The developers have to write set paths for these ‘dumb’ ai to walk thru.
Halo does not contain boxed in gameplay, or set paths. You say 3 years as if thats enough time. Halo has a crap load of features, to pull off a MP AI in this game would overcome other features we love so much.
I can 100% tell you that this feature is not in Halo 4. 343 already has a handfl with the Campaign AI!!! Would you want one of those guys driving you around in multiplayer?
And good people practice there skills with others…

Dude, some people don’t have the money for live or don’t have access to the internet, what do they do when FF and Campaign become redundant?
I’d want a MM experience, and if you think it can’t be done, your’e delusional.
In this date and time, considering what 343i has already done with campaign and Firefight, bots can be easily implemented into custom games/forge.
It wouldn’t matter if they didn’t know all the hiding spots or can’t make every jump, they just need to know the basics so I can have a multiplayer-like experience, that’s all people would want.
Of course someone who has easy access to internet and always has a gold membership doesn’t see the need for bots, but some people (like me) would LOVE to have them be implemented into the game.
There has been bots before in Halo: Custom Edition. However, they were scripted and only did what the author of the map told them to do, which was usually on a modded Blood Gulch map, charging at each other from base to base and ended up fighting in the middle…
It can be done, but the bots would be incredibly stupid and very non-human like. It wouldn’t be fun. In fact, I would end up being bored in 5 minutes. At least that’s how I felt with Blops’s combat training.
I agree that 343 shouldn’t take time away from the more important stuff like MM and Campaign to make this happen, but if the bots already exist, (like I heard on the grape vine), it wouldn’t hurt to drop them in the game, even if they have to be limited to the maps they can play on. Thousands of people probably still play BOps just for the bots in customs. It could only bring in players and make H4 more enjoyable when the internet cuts out. 343 is smart. I believe they can do it.
