It’s not 343i putting down the controller, but whatever helps you dodge accountability, I guess.
Nah. You’re the one being a child about it. Nobody is forcing you to do anything, it’s your choice to go after challenges and your choice to be a doodoo head to your team. I get it, why bother taking self responsibility when blaming others is much easier.
I have no responsibility to teammates in a video game. I play how I have the most fun.
Ugh, wish you all could be banned. So damn annoying
Everybody has the right to play the game how they want to, they don’t need to follow the core of the game. Some people simply play the game for their own happiness. Maybe they just bought all the skins in the store and want to show them off by just staying in their spawn?
Chill, only joking…
People have lives outside of gaming and sometimes life just happens. Sounds like you’re new to online gaming…get use to it.
One of those people that want to unlock something for doing nothing.
Going AFK isn’t playing the game and you chasing challenges sounds like something you don’t enjoy or have fun doing. Keep insisting that you are having fun playing a video game while documenting how you are not having fun nor playing the video game.

Way more fun to sit in a corner and have the game end quickly than it is to play with social settings.
But thanks for telling me what I have fun with, I appreciate it.
You’re welcome. I hope you get matched with people who will report you for griefing and your accounts get banned.
Mum came into the room. Told the child to go to bed. Hurdled him away without turning off the xbox.
Is what i assume.
I’ve only had it happen a few times, and I’ve done it twice myself.
First time I was top scorer on the team, and my batteries died. No replacements and I was running through the house looking for a replacement set. Whe I found a pair, I had been kicked. I was pretty pissed.
Second time was an emergency with a neighbor and her son slipping on ice in front of my house, breaking an arm and whiplash.
I’d like to think when I see someone AFK, it’s an emergency reason or battery issue.
It’s the ones turning in a circle and walking into walls and soaking up bullets for the enemy team that tick me off
Because 343 has chosen to incentivize participation rather than performance, and a majority of challenges just require you to play X amount of matches
Honestly, why are people spend time going AFK in matches to get an item like a nameplate, visor whatever? I just skipped more than 1 weekly reward, because i didnt care about.
I complete a weekly challenge only if i want the item. Otherwise, dont care.
I have still 27 challenge swaps left. Never bought a challenge swap or an XP boost. Still completed the battle pass very fast.
I would never go into a match to stay AFK.

Is this type of reasoning you tell yourself any time you are acting crappy in any shared public space (on the road, in a park, at the bar, on the sidewalk, at the theatre, etc)?

You are deluded if you think these things are comparable. Let me help you out: video games are not real life.
Hackers say the same thing.
Regardless, just be aware that actions can have consequences attached to them that you may not enjoy.

How are they not comparable?
Are you interacting with real people in both? Yes
In real time? Yes
Are both opt-in scenarios? Yes
Is there a social contract for how the public space should be used? Yes
Nobody in their right mind thinks the arena you play halo in is a real physical place… But nobody is saying that.
If you really want to continue with your line of reasoning, I guess you use this reasoning

if you act crappy in virtual meetings and phone calls?
OP - people AFK because they think they are the centre of the universe and find it important to unlock some virtual trinket in a game they don’t even enjoy enough to play themselves to unlock said trinket, at the expense of everyone else playing that game.
if you leave the match more then 3 times you get banned
i dunno if the game kicks you if you stay afk for too long, kinda doubt it, but since it doesnt matter how well you play, you can just stand there and do nothing for a few hours and grind xp
Because challenges force people to play playlists they don’t want to play. And if the gametype they are after pops up, rather than just quit and risk getting a ban, they afk and just do something else.
Another reason the challenge system needs a major overhaul.
