I see a lot of threads here complaining about people quitting in Halo 4, Especially in the Team Throwdown playlist. 343i introduced a remedy to this but obviously it wasnt well received. Now that they have given you guys(Competetive players) what you wanted I see many threads complaining about people quitting. Back during the days of Halo 3/Reach quitting was everywhere.
Note:…I want to clarify, I’m not speaking to all competitive players…Just the ones who complained about Halo 4 not being “Halo” and now basically complaining that Halo 4 is “too” Halo.
The bulk of the complaints I’ve seen have been aimed at people who quit during the vote meaning the teams are uneven before the game begins. This was far less common in past titles. People lagging out, rage quitting or AFKing has always been an issue but people leaving pregame on the scale being seen here is new.

From what I remember, it was just as prevalent in Reach.

Obviously I can’t comment on your experience, but I personally don’t recall an abundance of players quitting out pre-game unless it was some obscure action sack gametype.
Also, I have yet to wittness a competetive player screaming for the glory days of Reach to return.
At least in Halo 4 if people leave more come in. While in Halo Reach if people left you were stuck with lets say for example the other team has 8 players and you have 6 because a buddy and his guest left, you are stuck with playing 8 vs 6.
I haven’t tried Team Throwback yet, but just because 343i gives folks a playlist and says, “This is for the competitive community”, doesn’t mean it will necessarily be good or well-received by the competitive community.
It isn’t that hard to understand.
JIP fixed that issue , now if the leave more people come
> JIP fixed that issue , now if the leave more people come
Lol No, Team Throwback has JIP disabled so if someone leaves you are stuck, however this is how HALO has allways been so I don’t knwo why people are whining now.
They wanted Halo to go back to something closer to the past experiences, well here you go, JIP wasnt on Halo back then, now it is not present on Team Throwback, wich only makes sense after the hatred and complaints about JIP ruining peoples Win/Loss ratio.
Seriously guys, make up your minds.

It just seems that certain members of this mythical competitive community will never be satisfied.
When CSR comes, these members will say that the algorithm is flawed and that Halo 4 is an abject failure…
It will never end…

CSR is already messed up by being on Halo Waypoint only. Frankly I don’t care much about ranks, but it looks like a slap in the face towards the people who do. I just can’t help but feel that 343i seems to grasp what they should do, but never manage to get it right.

IMO this behavior increased the closer H4 came to launch.
So…since I want “old style halo” I was given no JIP, and to you that means I got it? No, no it doesn’t. IMO people are leave as frequently and in as larger numbers than any previous halo title is because they are use to it being okay.
If I give you a chocolate bar every day from a stash I keep on the counter for 3 months. Then for a couple days I don’t give you one, your not going to get it and so you will take one anyways. That’s how I see it. People are use to leaving pregame and during the game is okay. Its hard wired in now.
People post here about all the issues so they can be presented with a way to fix it from others. Complaining about complainers is pointless. People complain here not as an outlet but I “weak” way to brainstorm. Leave them be and contribute an idea to solve the issue rather than create a thread about how they shouldn’t complain.

I am of the same opinion. So much of the complaints I hear on these forums boil down to “I don’t like dying that way”, or “My way is better”. There is no regard for other points of view. “The game is broken”, they say. Well I’m playing it and I feel it’s not broken. So really, where do we go from here?
JIP is new to Halo 4, and people complained, especially the competitive ones. So Throwdown removes JIP and now they complain more. This whole nostalgia thing grows old and inbred.

Is it too much of a stretch to assume it takes more than no JIP to make a more traditional Halo experience?

Is it still hard to understand that 343i have their own vision of what Halo should be?
Certain folk are still of the opinion that the game should develop the way that THEY want.
But the problem is that Halo does not belong to them… It belongs to MS, and is run by 343i.
If enough people are dissatisfied… then Halo dies, and we play something else.
> Is it still hard to understand that 343i have their own vision of what Halo should be?
They can have their way and a more traditional way, make a old school playlist and an Infinity playlist.
> Certain folk are still of the opinion that the game should develop the way that THEY want.
And naturally they are wrong, but again what would a true traditional playlist hurt?

It doesn’t have to die when changes and additions can easily bring people back.
