First of all, I want to explain how well Flood would work against taking out all sentient life.
Cortana wants to basically hit the reset switch on our galaxy, so she can mold it into whatever she wants. She could make a deal with the Flood and let them live on a shield world or something. The flood were some of the most unique enemies in Halo, and at the time of Halo 3, they were a stable. They added a little bit of a horror element and they were a surprise twist in Halo CE.
During Halo 5 you work with the Arbiter to destroy the remnants of the Covenant, I doubt they will take out the covenant entirely, but I bet we could see a lot less of them. We usually have 2 main enemies in each Halo game, usually the Covenant and Flood or Covenant and Promethean. (except for Halo Reach) We could have Flood and Promethean’s be the main 2 enemies in Halo 6, and I bet it would make for and interesting combo. Not to mention we could have the Swords of Sanghelios on our side, and even though I hated Halo 5’s story, this could make up for it.
The Flood are in my opinion the most interesting and destructive force in Halo, and to see them missing for so long saddens me. Bring them back 343, please!

Agreed. I do miss them as well. I hated fighting against flood & covies simultanously, but i liked the challenge.
besides that, they always mixed up the things storywise.
i seriously hope they’ll return in the next halo title.
I would not want flood in halo 6 personally I can only see it destroying the story, 343 wants to do their own type of things the Promethean are that they don’t want to use bungies flood, if they did bring them back though basically it would just make the halo 3 story, which was suppose to feel like a grand finally, feel like its story was meaningless. The flood and the gravemind all of them brought to the arc to try and stop the one thing that almost killed them the last time, they were defeated by master chief and he saved his princess from the tower the galaxy is safe from total destruction, but then in halo 6 yeah none of that mattered you though you won tough luck keep fighting the same thing over and over again. Get what I’m getting at here?

you know what’s funny? you could say the exact same thing about the covenant.
Huh flood? Coming back? Ok so if that’s going to happen make them not loud cuz warden eternal is annoying and so are his troops when they yell
Instead of flood maybe introduce precursors as an enemy, as far as flood though we’ve been there and have done that for 3 games, it’s time for a new set of enemies, maybe retire the covenant and bring in precursors in their place or come up with a new enemy.
I hope we see the return of the flood but i doubt it because of the teen rating.
I have to tell you this : Do not have big expectations, because when Halo 6 will come out, you will be disapointed. Just wait and enjoy what you get.
Anyways, flood will be good in campaign, especially against prometheans (instead of covenant, like in halo 1-3)

The flood are the remnants of the precursors
would love to see how the xbox one could make the flood …were pretty disturbing in halo 3

I know this, but they are damaged/not entirely pure, I want to see precursors who didn’t turn themselves into space dust

True but at the same time almost always in army standards (not flood) even after you lose the war or lost all your troops in a huge battle you’ll still have other platoons stationed far away or just smaller pockets of resistances not the entire covenant was present during the fight at the arc, much like how Jai wasn’t around during the fall of reach, they were doing other things. The flood on the other hand work as a swarm less than a military so it would make a lot of sense that all the flood were present at the fight at the arc.
the flood would be cool, but I don’t think that they would fit that well into the current story line
I don’t know. By the time we got to their reveal in Halo 3 I was feeling burnt out on them as an enemy. The fact that Bungie needed to get those morphing tank versions out to try and keep them appealing sold me on the Flood’s time being up. I’m fine with them staying gone.
I guess everyone forgot that the reason we don’t have the flood is because players got annoyed having to fight them every single game. I appreciate The Flood as an entity within the universe of Halo and what it brings in terms of gameplay, but I think bringing back the flood would just be a lazy reset button.

But they weren’t, there are flood research stations (as far as we know) on all Halos and on some Shield Worlds (like the on from Halo Wars). So I’m 100% sure not all the flood was present during the fight at the Ark.
Since WHEN is Cortana bent on “resetting the galaxy?”
She isn’t a Reaper, she just wants to rule as a tyrant, no mass extinctions involved if she it gets her way.

I mean they could change up the way they act, they could make them easier to kill, have them group up more, increase their numbers, and use maps where there are longer lines of sight to mow them down. A lot of other Flood missions in past Halo’s were confined to small rooms and areas, as well as flood spawns were everywhere. If they were more like CoD zombies (cannot believe I of all people am using CoD as an example) then the Flood could be really interesting and fun. They could have other evolved forms as well, like they did with Halo 3, but have this version of the flood evolve into something else.
Would love for them to return. They would fit in very well with what 343 is doing with the story
