I found it personally very satisfying (If you dig into my forum posts you can read about the CE bet and the nightmare that was the library.) however otherwise it was pretty bad.

The scarabs can be debated but I see what you’re saying. Regret however never really did anything that I could consider threatening, I just sorta hit it till it died. And tbh I just sorta stood there and went “…what? that’s it?” when I killed the heretic leader by stabbing him twice with an energy sword.

Experience may differ, the scarabs were set up like a boss (Actually in all of them). However it was a the end of the covenant that they seemed imposing. The first time I actually wondered how I could take them down (Mind you I also completely missed the scorpion and was in a gauss hog.)
The prophets as a concept was quite interesting, though I’ll agree it wasn’t pulled off in the best manner.
I actually liked the heretic. Particularly the first time I fought him as I wasn’t prepared. It had never occurred to me that they would try to add a boss battle into halo of all things.
Heretic’s like the only good boss fight.
