Why EXP is needed -Topic-

Simple

You gain and lose experience points according to a simple scheme:

Win a match: +1 EXP

Lose a match: 0 EXP

Quit a match: -1 EXP

Ok so off the bat you can see that this will discourage peopel from quiting a game as they will not gain any XP and also loss 1 XP

This believe it or not did help with the DNF’S.

In HALO REACH you dont gain or loss Xp you ONLY GAIN Cr for each game and how well you do but you loss nothing if you quit so
this does not stop people from quitting.

Dont get me wrong Peopel will always quit but THE HALO 3 style XP helped control it a bit

Also peopel would go for there GENERAL in certain playlist and this showed how much they LIKED/PLAYED this playlist

Also Double Xp weekends were epic
I called in Sick to work for the DAY just to play RANKED living dead
peopel loved these kinds of thing’s Bring them back

Double EXP Weekend Playlists

Just to name a few
Both Ranked and Social

■Grifball - (Social and ranked)

■Living Dead - (Social and Ranked)

■Legendary Brawl - (Ranked)

■Mythic Brawl - (Ranked)

■3 Ball - (Social)

■Fiesta - (Social)

■Team Melee - (Social)

■Rocket Race - (Social)

■Team Flag - (Social)

■Living Dead (Ranked and social)

■Valentine’s Day Massacre (Valentine’s Day) (Ranked)

■Turkey Day (Thanksgiving) - This playlist featured 9 players FFA. (social)

■Ranked Big Team Battle - (Ranked)

And at the End of the DAY
we have very little info about HALO 4 - MAYBE it does have EXP or MAYBE it doesn’t

Im just posing that i think people loved the EXP and EXP per playlist + it cut down on the DNF’S.

Any input is Good

THANK’S for your Time Halo 4 Community

I agree losing exp when quitting increases incentive to stay in the game
One thing imo that should be added is bonus exp for individual performance so lets say you win that add 1 exp and you did well that adds another exp but if you player poorly then you would only get the 1 from winning

Yeah, this would be good if used in Halo4, like 3.

So basically just remake halo 3…?

So should we think of a new system?

Wait, what? But you said,

> This believe it or not did help with the DNF’S.

What side are you on, because you just showed that both methods don’t work.

Lol what?

He is saying 1 EXP per win and losing 1 EXP per quit helped with the quitting situation. It was pretty clear.

Anyway, I liked the Halo 3 EXP system, but I honestly think people are so simple minded that they think because they get like a couple thousand credits per game compared to 1 EXP per game that the credit system is more rewarding or whatever. Basically they like the bigger number even though it means nothing without context.

I do think that regardless of the system used, there should be an overall progression system and a playlist progression system. That was a great addition.

Agree with OP to a ridiculous amount.

EXP per playlist with is social ranking system is needed for Halo 4. It is a huge way to keep players coming back for more, and getting other people to buy the game and keep even more players invested for long periods of time.

It gives each player something to work towards so much to the extent people will make many accounts to repeat the process. 343i please make this happen!

THIS is very True

I really hope HALO 4 has EXP

But the XP system in Halo 3 didn’t stop anyone from quitting at all. I don’t think I ever played a single match where everyone in the game finished.

That’s why the quit probation was introduced in the first place: people quit at an alarmingly high rate.

As for everything else, I couldn’t agree more.

Meh, I’m all for ditching reward mechanics of any and all kinds so we don’t give people the wrong idea about what they should be playing for. If that results in fewer games logged and a less “motivated” community then so be it. A game should be (and ultimately is) judged on the merits of its content, not the insubstantial -Yoink- surrounding it.

Nothing will stop people from quitting
But it will help more then the reach Cr system…

I find the experience system awful, it doesn’t really do anything for me. I wouldn’t mind having it in Social Playlists, but having it in Competitive Playlists would be a terrible idea.

OK

Why would it be ok in Social and not in Ranked ???

It makes people what to keep playing playlists

I think this idea would be better than what is in reach. Honestly My ranking should reflect my skill. Im not the greatest player im more in the middle and I want my rank to show that similar to how H3 did it. Reach I just go higher and higher and its just endless no real reason for me to try and become better. the one in H3 made me want to play better. I consider myself to be casual but when you have a ranking system that makes you want to play and become better is what will make people keep coming back.

Halo 3 FTW. I want to see Halo 4 being built off of Halo 3. I still play Halo 3 till this day and it never gets boring.

I play it every few week’s just for fun it just feel’s right…

Oh, will you stop?!

All he says is he wants the ranking system to be like Halo 3, and to be honest, I support it. At least that system made winning mean something. With major tweaks, it could be perfect.

Me too, I want this game to be fresh and new from the ground up, but the ranking system was better in Halo 3 than in Reach, so hopefully they’ll take it more in that direction.
