First off, let me say that the amount of complaining around here is ridiculous. The worst part is, almost every thread I see has the wrong idea about this “perk” system. They view it as a game breaking system that will make for unbalanced game play, but I’m here to give everyone a different point of view on all of this.
The way I view this “perk” system is not unbalance game play, but something that will allow you to shape your gaming experience to match your playing style. This “perk” system will promote teamwork, as certain team members will be stronger in certain situations, and that fact can be used strategically to gain the advantage over your opponent. Team mates will have to work together with other team members that are stronger in a certain area to help them achieve a goal. I’ll give an example.
Say that the following “perks” are included in the game:
-Increase grenade capacity by one (can carry 3 grenades)
-Bigger, or more sensitive, radar
-Slightly stronger shields at the cost of health
-Does not appear on motion tracker unless shooting
-More zoom for scoped weapons
Now, say that the gametype is CTF. The player with slightly stronger shields can act as a distraction while the player that does not appear on motion tracker sneaks into the base. The player with an extended motion tracker can be driving a vehicles and calling out where players are. The player with more zoomed scopes can be sniping. The player with more grenades can cover the vehicle as it is driving away with the flag.
See? This “perk” system isn’t so bad.
Are you kidding? Why should I be excited that Halo is becoming more and more like the game I dislike? That sounds imbalanced as hell. I play Halo to play Halo, not Call of Duty. But I guess Halo has been heading down that road for a while, now.
> Slightly stronger shields at the cost of health
there is no health in Halo 4. smh. do research before you try to make an argument
How does this seem that unbalanced and don’t judge things before you try em lest let this guy say his idea.
I for one find this a pretty cool way for the perk system to work out besides the armor thing.
The thing with halo is that everyone starts off with the same playing style, thats the way it has been and should always be.
What if someones playing style involves sitting in a corner with juggernaut or some crap with a shotgun? not very fun for us is it?
why do u keep calling them perks franky already said its NOT PERKS

“-Increase grenade capacity by one (can carry 3 grenades)

Really? You can’t see any reason why these wouldn’t be imbalanced?

Dude. Actually Even in Halo & Halo 3 there was health didn’t you do your research lol? It is said that with MK VI with biofoam would make health bars redundant because of regen health.
> why do u keep calling them perks franky already said its NOT PERKS
Does it matter what they are called? they are letting armor affect gameplay and having customizable loadouts, the first is enough like perks to let me call them perks.
GreenDragon I’m just trying to be on the positive said and not just talk about all the bad things and just think about this without thinking about the negative things.
These would make gameplay more interesting.

Read the bulletin it pretty obviously points out a classic Halo playlist.

isn’t it obvious that he means a larger/smaller health bar?
Oh and OP, don’t try to change your argument after reading this

Frankie can spin it anyway he wants. A perk is still a perk. it will just be under a different name.
> why do u keep calling them perks franky already said its NOT PERKS
Then what are they?
Alright after looking at all these posts. I see this going nowhere good.
I’ve decided to call it a day get some sleep and hope to start anew tomorrow.
Peace.

They may make gameplay more interesting to you, but not to me. You basically don’t want Halo. You want Call of Duty with a Halo skin.
I hate the idea of a perk system, but I do like the idea of personalized progression. I’m thinking it’s going to apply to weapon attachments. Both the magnum and grenade launching magnum have been shown so what I’m thinking is that as you progress you’ll unlock attachments for all of these guns that are in the game. So when I pick up a magnum on the map I can put that grenade-launcher attachment on my gun if I’ve unlocked it. This gives casual players something to work towards that doesn’t involve just the look of your spartan.
As long as they don’t let you access your progression rewards in ranked playlists then I’m okay with it. I don’t want another Reach incident where loadouts and equipment are available in every playlist, including competitive ones.

How… in the HELL does this promote teamwork more than REGULAR Halo? Spawning with stronger shields is directly spawning with an advantage over everyone else.
Good lord. I used to be impartial to CoD, but it seems it has made everyone just lose every single brain cell they owned.
The day we can go back to spawning 100% equal and fighting for map/weapon control is the day I cry tears of absolute joy…
