Alright…a little background information about me first: I am an avid MLG player, I enjoy Halo: Reach post title update, and am EXTREMELY excited for HALO 4.
SO, a few people are upset about HALO 4 with all of the randomness and instant re-spawns and whatnot. BUT IT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS TO THINK THAT 343i WOULD IMPLEMENT ANYTHING OTHER THAN EQUALITY IN A RANKED PLAYLIST! when you stop, and think logically, the only places people would encounter these changes is social playlist…and who plays THAT competitively? seriously? come on. I dont play social playlist because to be perfectly honest… it’s not fun at ALL for me just to destroy casual(by casual i mean not good) players. in social playlist, im looking forward to the call of duty style insta-spawn and ability to join games. i really think that it would help HALO out to do that. ARE YOU DUMB ENOUGH TO THINK THAT THAT STYLE OF PLAY WOULD BE ALLOWED IN COMPETITIVE/RANKED(?) PLAYLIST?! because that’s what im getting reading a lot of the less-than well-thought through posts prior to this one. just stop and think for a minute.
Obviously your one of “those” people. And here is what I say to you: Just wait until you see what you “hardcore bad mother -Yoink-” type people are going to get. Just wait and see.

I thought “Why everyone is an idiot” was a very nice title.
Your point seems to depend a lot on the inclusion of ranked playlists; which hasn’t been announced yet. But it is likely that MLG won’t include the things that MLG people seem to hate, so y’all will be fine there. But I can see a few of these new elements being included in a ranked playlist, like how Arena was supposed to be the serious playlist in reach and had silly things for a while. But we don’t really have any information on their playlist structure yet; other than a post I might’ve read saying that there won’t be a ton of playlist options (like reach has now?).
So I’d think they’ll have:
Team Slayer
Free-For-All
Team Objective
Big Team
Infection?
Classic (no new stuff)
Not sure if they’ll try to make ranked/serious versions of slayer/objective/FFA, or just have 1 ranked playlist combining everything, or no ranks at all.
Then also Community → MLG, grifball, action sack; probably 1-3 months post-release after people make stuff for those lists.

And honestly, it’s not the best way to go about things, I think that’s proven with the painful amounts of Threads that contribute nothing but provocative and empty statements…

yes…i meant <mark>proV(!)acative</mark>…idk if you read my contribution but…i think it outlines my thoughts very poorly, but still gives a basic understanding of what i want. (see what i did with the word PROVACATIVE? thats what marketing is all about)
