Why Escharum wasn’t a good Character

Tldr but didn’t esherum train Atriox? It would have been interesting to see some flash backs

If the Bungie games are your metric for serious storytelling, I fail to see how Infinite didn’t take itself seriously. It had a lighter tone overall, but it’s emotional scenes hit harder than anything in CE. If Infinite wasn’t taking itself seriously, it wouldn’t even have them. I found a UNSC audio log outside one of the outposts. It was a mother’s message to her son before she committed suicide. You hear her die. It’s genuinely really depressing.

Is Escharum is over-the-top? Yes. There are also people in real life who are over-the-top. And the “Warrior” archetype has existed forever, and it’s been used in many stories that also take themselves seriously. In fact, the use of the archetype is more justified here than in most cases! Escharum is a literal alien. It’s fine that his motivations aren’t very human-like.

I never said infinite didn’t take itself serious. You said the original trilogy DIDNT which I vehemently refuted.

Taking itself serious does not equal matching the tone set by its predecessors.

I never claimed anything about escherums motivation. I simply stated him along with the entire banished as portrayed in infinite are campy, and Saturday morning mustache twirly villain tier lame.

The banished don’t even match the tone of when they were introduced in Halo wars 2.

Infintes writing along with halo 4 and 5 is just absolutely terrible.

How do the banished even make anything with those big meaty claws. I mean they can’t even close their mouths properly because of their teeth.
These guys can make space ships but ain’t got dentistry?
