Dear Waypoint Users,
Why don’t you get it?
Why don’t you get that there are people who buy Halo games solely for Multiplayer?
Why don’t you get that there are people who won’t touch Multiplayer until they’ve beaten Campaign on Legendary with ASO?
Why don’t you get that because someone criticizes a decision made by 343, they aren’t actually the devil?
I just read through a post that outlines exactly why it doesn’t make sense for 343 to release the game before they are ready, without proper playlists, Forge, and other features. Yet the top few comments are “Well I won’t be playing multiplayer for a week or more, so this post isn’t relevant” and “I imagine 90% of people will be playing Campaign with occasional breaks to try out Warzone in the first few weeks.”
Why don’t you get it?
There are thousands of people that want to enjoy Halo the way they want to. That way may be through Campaign, Multiplayer, Forge, or Theater. I experienced tremendous disappointment when I tried to save my first film in Halo MCC, only to discover that you can’t. A significant portion of my time in Halo is spent watching films with my friends, laughing about Mongoose wheelies or how we hid from noobs for a whole match or how we got an Extermination on a team of 3. A significant portion of many players’ time in Halo is spent doing what they want to do, not what you want to do.
For once, please understand that there are people out there that enjoy things besides Campaign and a new gamemode that promotes microtransactions. Accept the constructive criticism those people put forth and support them. If you don’t play Multiplayer for the first 3 weeks, then how does it hurt you for 343 to include Oddball at launch?
When people put forth positive criticism, not mindless complaining, listen, encourage, and help promote Halo. Don’t belittle, bash, and dismiss their opinions because it’s not something that directly affects you.
In the long haul, if Halo is going to survive, Halo 5 needs to be more successful than Halo 4 and MCC. Help Halo, don’t ruin it.
