Why don't you complain about no system link?

I see everyone being mad about the abscence of split screen in Halo 5 but I don’t see anyone getting mad about the absence of system link coop, don’t you guys enjoy being able to do LAN parties without having to care about your connectivity to the internet or 343’s servers and XBL being up or down? I think it’s very important that Halo 5 features LAN capabilities for coop AND mp, it’s critical for LAN parties, didn’t you guys saw the Halo 2 making of videos and the fun of these big LAN parties?

This is stupid and I don’t see any reason for Halo 5 to not feature this, except an irrational fear of potential pirate users to make use of system link to play online, first of all the XBox One is not hacked so I don’t see any reasons to set up counter measures against piracy and even then you could still add authenticity checks in order to able consoles to communicate to each other. As I see it, this is pure laziness and I’m not happy with this situation, this is not okay to remove LAN capabilities from games especially when they can’t be abused by potential pirates like on PC or Xbox 360,…

Bring back System Link to Halo 5 !!!

I’m told that the no-system link is due to the Xbox one’s hardware. Nothing 343 can do about it.

There are ways to still obtain system link play. But it is more complicated than just connecting a cable from one xbox to the other and requires some additional hardware.

Xbox One can’t support system link. Get mad at Microsoft, not 343.

Because it’s 2015, and we don’t need LAN anymore. we have this great thing called the Internet. Also, XB1 doesn’t support LAN anyways, so this is not 343’s fault.

People already got riled up about it, back when it was learned that the console doesn’t support system link. Obviously people took their complaints to MS, rather than one of the software developers.

Even then, people still bring it up in the splitscreen debates, due to the obvious connection, but splitscreen is an issue that 343 has involvement with.

2015 Doesnt mean that we need to downgrade anything.

You just complained about people not complaining. Which is kind of ironic on these forums.

not true, Gears UE still has system link…

People its should be in the game for LAN events, its meant more for competitive play than anything else.

Not downgrading. Upgrading. There is simply no need for LAN anymore.

completely false, if Halo hopes to bring competitive game play back into the franchise they need LAN support.

I don’t do either but I think the idea is that with splitscreen you only need one console and multiple controllers, but LAN requires multiple consoles, at which point you could just use Xbox LIVE.

What kind of bulshit is this, really? The One can obviously support LAN, any network card can do this, whoever says this is plainly lying,…

And no I don’t want to have to connect to the internet if I don’t have to, I don’t want to use centralized stuffs if I don’t have need for them and in the LAN scenario it only weakens the possibilities as if XBL or the internet is down you won’t be able to play,…

Sure, I’ll watch a 1 hour long video because I don’t have anything better to do…
Can you be a little more specific?

Unless you’re talking about that match being LAN, in that case, GOW 3 was on the Xbox 360.

sorry wrong video, fixed it. Rod Fergusson - Gears of War Multiplayer Focus Interview - Hypefestation - YouTube

I don’t complain about either because I haven’t played split screen or LAN games since Halo 2. My friends have all grown up, gotten jobs, their own Xboxes, TVs and families so sitting around in the basement getting wasted with massive LAN parties is a thing of the past. On the off chance someone does come over, they bring their own TV and Xbox with them because we all loathe having to share a TV for split-screen.
