Why don't they make sprint...

So you can’t sprint while getting shot at? This would mostly stop everyones complaining (including me :P) and it still works! You can sprint to get to the power weapons or to beat an opponent to a power-up.

I like the idea of being slowed down when taking hits while sprinting. Sorta like the freeze effect from the old Plasma Rifle.

Or

They could just not have it at all and we could play halo.

I would prefer no sprint aswell.

But they seem persistent in ruining Halo so I’m just thinking of suggestions to slow down the procedure.

Because that makes no sense and it eliminates one of the places where sprint is useful.

Not to mention, you’re trying to move around the map quickly, someone starts lobbing shots at you from across the maps with a BR, stray bullets hit you and make you have to keep hitting sprint just to use it. So it would be annoying as a Gungan in a Star Wars movie.

A what what in a star wars movie…?

Anyways, you try getting shot irl and see if you can carry on sprinting, can almost guarantee you couldn’t.

And before you say that Halo isn’t supposed to be realistic, well 343 are determined to make the game into CoD, so why not take that property? Hell… why not give us type 95s and MP5s, or maybe they could set Halo in modern times aswell.

Gungan, Jar-Jar’s species.

Spartans. Super-soldiers. Mjolnir power armor. It takes a whole lot more than a couple stray bullets to throw a 1300lb Spartan off course, that’s simple physics.

Halo isn’t supposed to be realistic. (And they’re not making it into CoD)

But it wouldn’t make sense from a realism stand-point or a gameplay stand-point.

If sprint is disabled for a duration once you are shot–so that you cannot just start sprinting again immediately after it is disabled–then I would be okay with it, and it would not be as much of a detriment to gameplay as it was in Reach.

That’s actually a good improvement.

At 1st I thought this was a good idea, but it really is not. Think of it. I will use one example, out of the many bad things that come from this: What if you are sprinting torwards a power weapon, but your team ate that is also sprinting to it decides to be a A-hole and shoots you to slow you down so he/she can aquire the power weapon instead, so then you shoot him/her back and it turns into this anoying -Yoink- race torwards getting power weapons all the time.

^That’s why I always played Halo with my team :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m actually surprised that this forum gets why sprint hurts gameplay. But ya, making it so you can’t sprint while getting shot would be awesome. It would stop kids from sprinting at you to double melee/sword

They should have momentum, if you have been moving forward 5 seconds without being shot or shooting you go 1.5 times as fast (if you want). Can’t turn left/right loads with it, and you go back to regular speed if you shoot/get shot/strafe left or right. That way it is purely movement on big maps when no one is about and can’t be used offensively or defensively.

And cool yellow lines come off the back of your feet.

Or no sprint at all.
