Black ops 2 is having a Skilled based ranking system where there having leagues where if you keep winning and rank up you move up into another league. i think this is very cool and would kind of solve the buying account problem because to move up into another league you have to win so it wouldnt matter if your a 50 if you dont win you get demoted and go down in the league. so therefore if you do buy an account and suck you would be a 50 but in the last possible league where then everyone would know you didnt earn your 50. i think this is a really cool ranking idea. you could be a level 40 but in a high league or a level 47 in a low league.
Do you guys think this is a good or bad idea?

Because i don’t see any problem copying COD or any other game. every game copies another game. and not just games movies, music, everything in life. its normal you copy something and try to improve it. not to mention this rivalry between the two community is really immature. i have no problem with rivalries but at least be mature about it
Why don’t they copy Black Ops? Because they’re trying to be original, and Halo isn’t anything like CoD. Just the mention of CoD is reason enough for people to troll sometimes.

As far as I can see, COD is the biggest copier ever, stealing most of “their” ideas from Battlefield.
Except for Kill streaks but those are ridiculous as COD coming with a good original idea.

Really? There isn’t a rivalry, there is just biased people, unbiased people and kiddies. Also, there isn’t any problem with copying…except for the fact that it’s illegal - use different words, and understand that, if it’s a good idea, most game developers use it. That’s why there are similarities in games.

But I do agree, its an immature rivalry. But don’t use “copy” directly. Take inspiration, use the same concept, not “copy”. That sbeen thrown around a lot too.

Maybe 343i has a ranking system designed to be similar to SC2’s, but better, too bad people swear that 1-50 ranking is the one and only ranking system, and think that there is no chance that any other ranking system will ever be as great.

Guys obviously Halo 4 is copying things from CoD because they think that it will make the game more successful. That’s what game developers do, they emulate ideas. That’s how we get marginally better or much worse games.

Ha, 1-50 was flawed to the core because it tied the visual skill indicator to True Skill, made it easy to abuse, even encouraged it. Thanks to the abuse it affected all of MM since True Skill got worse at matching people since a “top player 50” could be as bad as a level 7…
Strict True skill and a random rank system that rewards you for playing, simple as that, however have it reset after a while (every 6 months?) and you’ll only get exp for winning (team games) or being top 2-3 (lone wolf). That way it would be harder to abuse the system since you could never see your actual true skill, all you could do was “hope to win” against increasingly harder opponents.
