Why don't these people understand Action Sack

I hadn’t tried the Action Sack playlist and I used to really enjoy Action Sack in Halo 3, so I figured I’d give it a try. I join a game in progress that’s a combination of CTF and SWAT with light rifles. Before I could even figure out what the game was I’d been killed two or three times.

Are they really that clueless about what Action Sack should be? Action Sack games should be crazy stuff that’s nothing like the regular playlist. Even Bungie got it wrong sometimes in Reach’s Action Sack games.

Doesn’t anyone remember Stickies, Dodgeball, Team Scuds, Team Rockets, Stab Out, Punch Out and others whose names I can’t remember? Dinoblasters was a good Action Sack game in Reach. I didn’t go to Action Sack to play SWAT.

But SWAT with CTF? If I wanted to play SWAT I’d play SWAT, for God’s sakes. Ditto for CTF, and I never play either one. What are these people thinking? It reminded me of Power Slayer in Reach, another basic Slayer game tweaked slightly and palmed off on us as an Action Sack game. Not good enough. Action Sack games should be unlike any other MM games, chaotic, just play fun stuff, not stupid stuff like this.

And people wonder why the population is so low in this game. It’s because for all their big talk about being Halo fans since before there was dirt these guys just don’t get it.

I remember when Action Sack was only just Slayer, before they introduced these new gametypes.
Yeah, Action sack blows in this game but even then I hardly played it in any other installment either.

Yeah, lightning flag needs to go. I actually enjoy binary slayer and rock n’ rail immensely, however. Seems like no one ever wants to play those though…

From an outsiders perspective, it appears to me that 343 is going out of their way to make this game their own.

Flood is a prime example, 343 changed the basic formula of the game type and it went from being the most popular, to one of the least and not a single word has been spoken on the issue.

Im hoping they find a more solid understanding of the fan base in their next release.

OP,

I understand what you mean. I have joined Action Sack so many times only to play a crappy version of CTF. Lets just hope that Action Sack gets deleted all together, or lets hope that Fiesta is the only thing in that gametype.

C’mon… Lightning flag is great!!!
But they could keep the reach’s Rocket race! That was as cool as f***

Lghtning flag…what’s the point? I mean, yeah it’s good for maxing out the Light Rifle, but it’s just Swat and CTF in one game.

…Now that you mention it, why didn’t 343 add Rocket race to Halo 4?

Why they thought adding instant kill Light Rifles was a better idea rather than Rocket Race, is beyond me.

Honestly I think Lightning Flag is the most Action Sac worthy gametype in the whole playlist. Halo Reach had it best though. Completely new gametypes that couldn’t be created with customs and few boring slayer matches.

At least we for Fiesta here.

They could’ve just added CTF to the SWAT playlist.

Zeus AKA Run for Cover
Dodgeball
Fiesta
Stab-out
Team Sumo
Pit of Lies
Ninja Assault
2 Flag Shotties
Pit of Joy

We had all of these fun gametypes in Halo 3, and most of these are not possible anymore due to the lack of gametypes that we once had but now do not have. And on a side note : in Halo 3 we didn’t have rocket launchers every time we spawned like in Reach and Halo 4. I just don’t like the gametype anymore with the current weapons we are getting at spawn. Back in Halo 3 it was my favorite gametype. What a shame.

You’re joking right?

People play Lightning flag for kills, If I want to play a game just about kills I’ll play slayer. If I want to play CTF I’ll play CTF.

Even in CTF people spawn kill and just aim for kills so why would Lightning flag work?

Halo 3 action sack had a game mode called ‘tug of war’ which SHOULD be a team slayer variant. That mode required skill. Basically if anyone on your team dies the team loses a point. A kill equals one team point. So whichever team got to 15 points first or had highest score before time ran out won.

It really showed you who was good and had a good k/d spread and who wasn’t helping the team. Best mode ever that sadly never stayed alive after that.

343i never bothers to inform us about anything. I watched the video of when they announced Forge Island. They had the audacity to claim it was a thank you to their customers when we all know that lame map is just big space done on the cheap because they figured out they’d screwed up by not giving people a big space map to build on the race tracks, space ships and other stuff people loved to do in forge.

It wasn’t a thank you, it was an attempt to make up for a dumb thing they did by not having a big space in forge in the first place. It was yet another example of 343i not getting it.

Action sack is supposed to be fun, Lightning CTF makes my blood boil.

It’s at the point where if it comes up for vote, i don’t vote until i’m sure one way or the other which mode is being played, if it’s Lightning CTF, i leave the lobby.

I get you completely. They have like 3 gametyes in action sack, and they all suck. Why can’t they bring back that sandbox game in Halo 3 where one team snipes from the sky while the others try to run across the ground? That was fun as hell

Action Sack is okay. I’m not the biggest fan of Lightning CTF, but Fiesta, Binary Slayer, and Rock 'n Rail are a lot of fun! They do need more fun gametypes, though. Dino Blasters and BoomBall come to mind. Those were really fun! Add some Halo 3 gametypes too!

The whole game is supposed to be fun. That statement doesn’t really give the playlist much merit.

Lightning CTF differs from SWAT hugely, for a start, Lightning CTF is CTF, not Slayer, it features ordnance drops, LightRifle starts, AAs in personal ordnance as well.

You claim Action Sack is a place for gametypes that are unlike anything else and are chaotic, you’ve just described Lightning CTF, it is unpredictable and extremely fun, for me at least but hey, we all have our own opinions on thing.

Oh, feel free to go and leave your Action Sack feedback here.

> LOL - totally agree. Of course, I do that for about every gametype in halo 4.
