Why don't the Noble maps show up in MM?

Hi! I am new here!

Today my grandmother finally agreed to let me buy the Halo Reach Noble Map Pack that I’ve wanted for long. I have been saving momey for 3 months, but normally she doesn’t allow me to use her credit card.

Anyway, I came home from school today and was very excited about the new Map Pack. But after playing for more than an hour without any of the maps showing up in Multiplayer Matchmaking I figured something must be wrong. I remember that there was, some time ago, a playlist specific for players who want to play on these maps. What happened?

Are any of you people having the same problem? Can I fix it? It would be a shame if my money was wasted.

Thanks,

/Alb

In August, 343 removed the DLC playlist. I’ve heard rumors that those maps are still around in normal matchmaking, but they require you to get a full lobby where everybody has the maps for them to even show up as a voting option. Then you need to hope the map and gametype combination is good enough for people to vote for it rather than sword base or countdown. You can however play the maps whenever you want in custom games and forge, which is apparently where 343 felt people would really want to play these maps rather than in matchmaking. Goodluck!

You’re going to have to get into a match with players who also have the map pack. Map pack sales were low in Reach, though. Not many people have the maps, on top of the fact that you need to actually match those players. They’ll come up eventually, just give it time.

Not sure if this a helpful solution but team slayer seems like the playlist I see most dlc matches in. The other day I played team slayer for several hours and got 2 matches on maps from the noble/defiant map packs.

Typically the playlists with more players would yield more DLC matches, for the simple fact that there are more players in it, so a higher chance of other players owning the maps.

Why would they do this? This means that my money is completely wasted since I never play custum games… Why even let people buy the DLC if they cannot play it?

I just lost my respect for 343i.

Because it isn’t gone to waste. It isn’t 343’s fault that a low number of players bought the map packs. You just have to get lucky, really. I had DLC maps show up pretty often these past two days. I almost played 2 flag on Anchor 9, but we wanted Oddball Countdown over it.

I play for about 3-4 hours a week, what are my odds to find a match on Noble maps? Maybe once every week I will get lucky, but that means I’ll just leave/stand AFK the rest of the matches because I’m sick and tired of the old maps.

They removed the DLC playlists because almost no one actually used them.

Habitual quitting will put you on quit probation and may run the risk of credit bans. Habitual AFKing will run the risk of credit bans as well.

You picked a hell of a day to join up.

The Evolved Playlist should Require all DLC maps …

Then maybe I could play on the maps I have paid for .

It’s 343’s fault that the dlc playlist was removed though. Long wait times are better than having a slim chance of the maps coming up in normal matchmaking. There was no reason why a low population playlist had to be removed, when it offered something that no other playlists provided.

Word.

I’ve never had an issue with wait times, even in the ZB Slayer playlist. I miss playing that so much…

OP, keep searching. The maps will pop up. A possible way to help with that is to also get friends on your f.l. which have the map packs. You can always come on here too, go to the Halo: Reach section and post a thread about getting players who have the dlc maps. Many people would be willing to help with that.

Did you say Sword base?

yeah … true life story, it’s happened to me -_-

You think if they just had one playlist for DLC maps there would be enough people to get some matches going. Hell, based on the amount of threads I see on here daily about this issue would be enough people to have a steady flow of players. What would it hurt for them to put up a DLC playlist?

This situation has happened before. They took away Premium Battle and people complained. 343 made a new DLC playlist, warning that if the playlist had a low population, it would be retired. As you can tell, not many people played it.

They probably wanted it’s “fast paced” gameplay…
