in? Team Doubles, Team Objective, Throwdown, Snipers. Populations are so low, I mean if all your gonna play are default playlists like Infinity slayer and Big team then why bother even putting in new things at all? What’s gonna happen when they put in a ranked playlist? I bet the population will hit 200 cause everyone is playing IS.

Because those calling for a Team Doubles was a small part of the community and, for the most part, those who actually wanted are probably playing it…
Because those calling for a Team Objective was… repeat and rinse…
Because those calling for a Team Snipers…repeat yet again…
and, those calling for Team Throwdown…you get the idea…
…you see what happens when small groups call for what they want and they are provided with it…it splinters the population…
When Im working on my sniper commendations I will play snipers only, otherwise I’d that game type bores me.
Throwdown is filled with quitters and with no JIP Im not touching it period. That and I prefer dmr to br.
Team doubles I play but only when I have a friend on.
Those playing IS or BTIS can still play other gametypes.
I love that they added all the playlists. Ive been going in and out of literally every playlist besides swat, not a big swat fan. I love the variety, they finally have some in the game but I do agree with you. These forums ask for so much and then when I go and see the population it looks like everyone is still playing Infinity Slayer and Big Team. It is probably why 343 does not listen to this forum that often, its mostly trolls and spoiled kids.

I try to play all playlists equally, but it seems that they only like Infinity Slayer.
I’m very happy to see 343i add in the playlists like doubles, Throwdown and community forge test etc.
They are an important part of the community and in my opinion “classic arena style Halo” should always be available to play, even if the population is next to nil there should always be that heritage playlists.
The reason populations are low in those playlists is as other posters replied above, the vocal minority want such settings and playlists but they aren’t the majority.
As long as 343i keep rotational and core playlists they’ll find the balance to provide for many types of Halo fans. Most of the time I love CTF or bomb, sometimes I play partied up BTB/Infinity and other times I play as a random or party with my brother for doubles.
I’m glad 343i went with a fresh take on Halo 4 settings but it’s a welcome relief they’re working hard to continue support for classic Halo. Further the new maps, playlists and variants are providing opportunities for refreshed classic settings too, this is a good thing.

It’s not splintering the population, it’s catering to people who otherwise wouldn’t even play the game.
^ this.
What about the Dominion playlist, the ugly duckly of 343’s Halo 4 mult-player. 343 populated each mid-size map with little bases to support the Dominion game type, and diminished the mid-sized maps for the other game types. Think of all teh wasted space in Vortex and Longbow. Then look at Ragnarok - no little bases and one of the best large maps in Halo 4. Dominion is not doing so bad, maybe a 1000 or so players at a time, but it’s no Big Team Battle.
Dominion is another thing where the concept was good but the execution was poor.
Currently Dominion is a randomized power weapon spamfest where you are blown up or shredded every time you attempt to take a base.
I also forgot to mention the combined total of all those playlists beats Infinity Slayer, so there’s still a significant portion of the community that doesn’t play Infinity Slayer.
A can guarantee if they added a BTB playlist it would have a significant population.
> Currently Dominion is a randomized power weapon spamfest where you are blown up or shredded every time you attempt to take a base.
I’m pretty sure the entire mutiplayer is a randomized power weapon spamfest (see:BTS).

Didn’t want to go there, but yeah…
We aren’t playing those playlists because the people that wanted them stopped playing Halo.
I play Reach or 3 now when I want to play. It was too little, too late for Halo 4 and I’ve moved on. (isn’t it sad that moving on is moving back? huh.)
Because infinity slayer/team slayer has always been the most popular playlist ever since halo 2. The new playlists only look small because only around 50,000 people are playing this game at any given time. The more people playing the game the more people who are going to be interested in different playlists.

It does splinter populations…but I’d much rather have more options with playlists than less options. What they’re doing with matchmaking and the playlists right now, I fully support. It’s been a good month for 343.
Your exactly right on how I personally feel. Spartan ops is all I play. I can enjoy maybe 45 min of it. Enough to shoot some covenant and feel like I’m playing firefight. Then I come to realization I’m playing the piece of -Yoink- spartan ops them turn it off and play skyrim. I don’t even sign in to waypoint anymore. I just did for the first time in a long time just cause this guy describes how I personally feel to a T. I was so disappointed by this game I have started converting to Sony. Destiny is being purchased for ps4. Microsoft has officially been cut off from my money. The only way to make a point is with your wallets. Microsoft is a -Yoink- company. Time and time again they put out garbage.
Well that was my rant that noone could possibly care about. Anyway, everyone have a good night
My question: why does it matter what the populations are? Just as long as you find someone. If the population was causing major game finding issues, which it’s not because then NOBODY would be in the playlist, then I could understand.
Otherwise, just take some friends in with you, find a game, bam. I couldn’t care less how many people are playing it, just as long as I find a game.
