Why Don't Assassinations Work Properly?

Has anyone else noticed that when performing an assassination in Halo 5, the wrong animation plays? I’ve had lawn dart selected as mine for the longest time but I’d say that 50% of the time I manage to actually perform an assassination, it just uses the default animation

The one you select will not always work because of things like space restrictions and context. For instance, an airsassination always has the same animation. If you are in a cramped area, your animation won’t have enough room to play out properly. Thus, you see the default animation.

I dunno man, I’m usually out in the wide open. I get what you’re saying, but I think this is a glitch. The game hasn’t been updated in like 4 years though so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised lol

Probably the person you are assassinating has irregular armour like a bulky torso and small head, which messes up hitboxes and may be because the animation would glitch (e.g head phasing into body, legs glitching into hips, your character glitching into enemy). Lastly, probably because the physics engine is working in the background, affecting assassinations.

Assassination is difficult to make, there are a lot of reason why the default assassination arrive. It’s pretty good to have assassination yet

Not to be a buzz kill, but I have assassinations turned off. Why, because they serve no game play purpose, and take up time you could be setting your next kill.

If I am ever serious about a match I am also certain to turn them off in a heartbeat. Too many times I have accidentally stuck myself into the full animation and gotten myself killed in the process when I could have easily pulled a multikill otherwise.
