Anyone have an explanation on why the LR and Suppressor don’t vaporize enemy Spartans? I’m guessing it might have to do with framerate, but I think it would be cool to see it more often in gameplay.
I asked myself the same question for the LightRifle, Suppressor and Boltshot. I just came to the conclusion that the bullets aren’t exactly as powerful as the Scattershot, Binary Rifle or iCannon.
The Halo 4 guidebook says the boltshot, light rifle, and suppressor fire hardlight while the scattershot, incineration cannon, and binary rifle fire ionized particles which explains why they can incinerate their targets.
Darn it, I was planning on making a thread just like this today but you beat me to it.
I think it would be nice if the scoped lightrifle caused the incineration effect. I can understand why the smaller hard light rounds dont but the scoped version is a lot thicker and packs a wallop.
In addition to making sense canonically with the purpose of the knights vs flood, it would probably bring more people to the LR over the DMR simply for the entertainment value of incinerating people.

Excellent, thank you!

Just in case people don’t believe him, I can confirm this. I have the Official Game Guide as well.
