Why doesn't anyone play Super Slayer anymore?

The Super Slayer playlist is a favorite of mine, but if doesn’t have very many players these days. Team Slayer has plenty of people there. Why? Because it’s at the top of the list when you choose a playlist, and lots of people just choose the first one they see? Anyone want to start playing Super Slayer again?

Probably because people are still mad that they removed Squad Slayer and replaced it with Super Slayer. It’s basically just a TU’d Team Slayer, but Squad Slayer was totally different.

I try to play it but with such a low population now I seem to get a lot of annoying yellow bar / black screen matches. It’s just not fun to know I can beat the opposing team but connection to the match is preventing me from doing so.

As much as I hate team slayer with it’s terrible bloom, bad player base who chooses swordbase 24/7 like it’s a BF3 server of Operation Metro’, and constant derp AR starts I can barely enjoy Super slayer anymore. It’s unplayable to even move when spartans are rubber banding across your screen from lag because the game thinks it’s a great idea to put you in a game with people from China or something lol

Squad Slayer was amazing though and probably would still have a huge player base if never removed. Good players choosing good maps, saw a lot of dlc more often, no Armor lock, 5v5 … it was so nice.

I think it’s because the only people that really play Super Slayer anymore are the competitive tryhards and MLG players looking for a warmup, so the bar set for any newcomers in the playlist is extremely high.

Team Slayer still has all of the Vanilla Reach settings, so it’s more appealing for new players or casuals that don’t really care about the modified Reach settings.

I don’t play much slayer because I usually play alone and get guys on my team that go -15. I would prefer SS or Arena if I could get a solid team. I know I can hold my own. It just doesn’t make sense to join those playlists anymore unless you have a solid party because most of the time that’s what your going up against.

I love it, plays much better than the other playlist. The fighting is fierce, players play harder… It’s basically social arena. However Reach is full of people that want to avoid exactly that. You will rarely find players who want to run into tough opponents. Since this playlist leans toward the competitive side, just like in arena, it’s a dumb idea to enter if you do not have a team of four that you trust.

So ya, I love TU but I’m not going in without good teammates meaning I won’t play it often. Now if they just applied TU to normal slayer… That would be sweet.
