Like every halo game before it always kept track of everything for some reason this one only keeps track of your season pass
Is it because were still in the beta ?
I dunno, I thought it was a return to the roots of previous Halo’s. More focused on having fun that obsessing over stats.
Many stats still available through Halo API, sites like Halotracker.
We shouldn’t have to go else were for stats. And looking at the stats IS part of the fun. Halo 5 had all sorts of stats in the after lobby. Sometimes less isn’t more.
It is for me, I like the simplicity.
If it stops people obsessing over their stats and playing with more freedom then even better.
Might as well remove the kill feed and scoreboard all together if that’s your arugument
Score pard is helpful to understand what’s going on in the game, and where to focus your attention. Best players on either team. I like the scoreboard and I like doing well and winning.
But it is also true that there a lot of players out there that have an unhealthy obsession with their k/d. Results in a lot of quitting too. Which is even more ludicrous as the game uses sbmm so k/d is a genuinely worthless stat.
So using your same argument I used the stats after game to show what I needed to work on.
You see how stats are important? Not just the immediate ones?
We still get stats after the game.
They just don’t spit it back at players and say your global k/d is 0.67 after 2,000 games.
Go look at Halo 5s stats after game. It’s a night and day difference
Because they need more time. Just give them more time, ok?
I disagree with this premise. Going to HaloTracker is not inherently more of an inconvenience than going to HaloWaypoint. Furthermore, by exporting statistics as raw data 343 essentially outsourced the curation of stats to whomever had the time and resources to do it with satisfaction. Even if 343 turned around and did their own thing, it’s going to be sub-par compared to someone who can dedicate all their resources to it. HaloTracker is awesome. This was a win-win strategy for everyone.
As for in-game stats… idk or care really. I’m satisfied with the carnage report.
Halo tracker could be floating next to me and all I have to do is turn my head and I would still not look? It should be in game. Full stop. I don’t care about cosmetics but it should be there for the people who like them. Just like assinaitions.
I can assure you, that was not the case. Because if 343 were going for fun, they would never introduce such a poor and game destroying challenge system.
My guess: no time to implement it due to missmanagement. Utter bad and non flexible UI. Feature drip feeding… they gonna introduce it at one point, selling it as a part of the live service.
Well obviously they won’t sell it, that’s ridiculous.
But maybe they will implement a UI change in the future. It could be due to time constraints but it could also be an attempt at capturing what was so special about Halo 1-3.
Simple, effective. Less focus on stats and more focus on just enjoying yourself in each individual game.
Selling in the sense of “oh look at us, we are so generous we listen to you”. Not in the sense of charging money.
H3 had the stats online. And as I said, if they were concerned about “just having fun” they would have implemented match composer and no game destroying stats for starters.
They didn’t though. The API that HaloTracker, etc. use is a reverse engineering effort based on the APIs the game itself uses. This might change as there have been previous APIs provided by 343 in an official capacity.
Anyway - Infinite does keep track of all the states. It just doesn’t show them anywhere yet.
I liked it back in H3 when you could see the opponents rank before the game. If you wasn’t a 50 it played a big part of your psyche going into the match.
That’s for them to stress over. Some people like to use stats as a means to gauge performance (me). It isn’t “freeing” to have less data. Quite the opposite.
because… raisins
like, personaly, i ain’t at all a very competitive player. but going to MCC, Reach, or 5. going to my personal stats… it’s nice seeing the stats. be them terrible or good. how far i’ve come.
to some it is an ego boost… but at least to me, it’s comforting to an degree. it’s like seeing your spartan as you invisioned… complete
Halo tracker does this for you also the badges now too
