Why does the water in alpin kill you?

It’s bad enough the maps are cut off early but come on why does the water inside the map boundary kill you?

Spartans are always weak agains water.

Because Spartans are Fire-Pokémon.

Because IGN made the water

Can spartans swim in the heavy armor?

It would make sense to me tbh if they couldn’t

Ever heard of rusty armor?

that doesn’t explain why if you drive a warthog in it explodes on contact XD

Everything in Halo is an Fire-Type

Well you said it yourself - it a cut off / barrier as in “end of the map” - in Skyrim you get teleported away in gta you get 6 stars and here you just explode.
Best way to deal with it is to end your map before the water (with structures etc.) so you don’t have to deal with this unrealistic behaviour

Actually no there is 1/4 of the map that is water and is still in the boundaries it doesn’t make sense, if they didn’t want you in the water they should have put the boundaries there. You can only use it if you build above it.

That’s why they allow you to build there.

It’s no different than the water in Forge World killing you in Reach.

Actually, the Spartan’s black under layer underneath their armor is made entirely of cotton. As soon as it comes into contact with water, it shrinks. Your Spartan then dies of suffocation. Wonderful, isn’t it?

343I has ironically designed two armor sets -Oceanic and Mako- which are designed for the purpose of marine combat, yet your Spartan can get nowhere near water. Maybe the Spartan Program’s genetic alterations create hydrophobia in all of the subjects…

I agree OP, the boundaries are awful. The maps are tiny compared to forge world and you die instantly touching the water. At least in reach, there was a certain depth you could survive at, even go underwater at over point.
