I mean, look at it! It’s so big and annoying on how it looks on my Spartan!
Try the weapon combo glitch with a turret and then use smart link when in the air.
Move to the side and the thrusters come right out of your “thruster pack”, it doesn’t even look right.
What do you mean?
I agree, I like the effect from a gameplay perspective, but it looks like every Spartan has a big ugly backpack on that you can’t take off.
That can’t be comfortable to sit down with when wearing MJOLNIR, gel layer or no.

I think what the OP is referring to are actually the MJOLNIR armor’s fusion reactors.

That thing in the back it’s the MJOLNIR’s fusion reactor… basically, it’s what gives energy to the whole armor

That’s what those things are? I always thought they were jetpack/thruster things for space combat because you see MC use them in halo 4. I guess you learn something new everyday.
It’s one of the reasons I like the Mark IV armor, the back isn’t particularly massive, is one solid plate across the upper back, and doesn’t have two large, overly-detailed tumors on it.

Why isn’t that a weak spot?
Agreed. I’m going to war, not school.

It’s heavily armored.

Actually, those two “tumors” began to appear in the original Mark VI, and given the major enhancements GEN2 armor has over the previous models, it was necessary to sacrifice aesthetics to functionality

They should put that heavy armour on the helmet.

Dynast.

And letting the fans get “triggered” because their helmets are not “copy-pasted” from other Halo games because of extra platting?

It would take that much armour it could be like the brute shot helmet under the shields.
Hellcat thrusters have a reduced profile, Mark IV gen I, & Wrath armor don’t have huge visible thrusters at all, (which is AWEsome imho) & one of the reasons I rock the Wrath armor.

‘Functionality’ is such an interesting term in a universe where we have plasma guns and floating metal robots. Sure, they were kind of there in the MK.VI but they weren’t quite as massive nor as blatantly obvious.
Furthermore, I don’t always believe in sacrificing aesthetics in a fictional universe hundreds of years into the future. I’d take many of Bungie’s human military designs over 343’s regardless of ‘practicality.’ I like codpieces, clipping/bulky armor, the old scorpion design, and other things, some of these being barely practical if at all. Doesn’t make them bad since I enjoyed them as aesthetic choices.
