I’ve seen a lot of people complaining in the forums about how bad the story from Halo 5’s Campaing sucked, but I didn’t read a good argument about what made it suck. I kinda liked the story, even though I didn’t like the ending 'cause its a BIG AF CLIFFHANGER +1. Another thing I didn’t like was that most of the game is played from Osiris perspective, I expected at least a 50/50 perspective, since Chief is the iconic character here. So anyone that has any comments on this topic, I’ll really appreciate them.
What is so bad about the story?
What did you like? What did you not like?
I’ve wrote a big post a bout it, let me link it here : https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/6e35355aecdf4fd0acdaee3cc4156fd4/topics/my-thoughts-on-halo-5/56cf2880-649c-415b-84a4-07152fad21e7/posts?page=1
Some people just don’t like anything. “Meh, why is Cortana a bad guy?” “Meh, too much Locke, not enough Chief.” “Meh, who the heck is Palmer?”
Most of it boils down to people not understanding what’s going on and finding it easier to say they don’t like it than to admit they couldn’t follow it.

hahaha, “not understanding what’s going on”, mate, even a 3 year old could understand the toilet paper roll that H5’s scenario is, it’s just an epileptic pile of garbage, that’s what it is…
I don’t really find anything wrong with it. Played it through on normal for my enjoyment and I am currently playing through solo legendary. There is more of the forerunner aspect than the covenant when it comes to enemies, but thats just how the story has progressed from Halo 4 to Halo 5. It was a good campaign in my opinion, not much more or less than that.
Why don’t you make a title that employs English.
WHY DOES THE HALO 5 CAMPAIGN SUCK
Fix it.

'Cause I’m hispanic… and sometimes I don’t know how to write the correct past tense of a word/phrase
But thanks for the support, and for not having a comment about the Campaing, which was what I was expecting.
A better question is: How was the campaign good?

It was good because it made me want to go back playing Halo:CE on my PC
I only hope that the people complaining about Halo 5’s Campaign are Halo lore readers, 'cause if they’re not, then I think they don’t have the right to comment about how the story is bad or not, 'cause they simply don’t have the background to support their arguments.

My Bad. Thanks for changing.
Campaign - Introduce a hollywood actor to kill off the Icon of your entire Console… Turns out he wasn’t going to interact with him they just decided to ignore Chief, the entire story of the Bungie Halo Series which has established Chief is the only remaining Spartan, and replace him w Locke. Turns out Locke is a boring, run of the mill average soldier with no backstory and weak dialogue. Cortana is now -Yoink!-? I thought it was the greatest campaign evur 10/10.

That’s the worst argument ever man, the game is supposed to stand on it’s own, I don’t think I have to read books to be able to fully enjoy the game, I’m a bit familiar with the lore but I’ve only read Fall of reach, to me the games and the lore should be separated, the way Bungie did it was the good way because it didn’t required the player to know anything from those boring books to enjoy the game’s scenario and still was compatible with them, I’m pretty sure 343 doesn’t really know what they’re doing with Halo, their decisions are always driven by poor motives and most of the time give bad results…
Don’t let other people convince you that it sucked if you liked it. It’s all a preference thing and what people were expecting.

Lol. But seriously, playing this campaign made me play the MCC. Now my save keeps crashing in Halo 5. Why?

No worries, no harm done.

I’m not saying you have to read to enjoy the game, I’m just saying that from Halo 4 to Halo 5 there’s a gap in the story that can be filled with that lore, and that maybe that’s the reason why people are ranting about Halo 5 story, 'cause they (possibly) don’t know where it came from. As you say, the game is understandable by itself, it doesn’t need the lore to be enjoyed, but people can understand the story better if they read the lore.
(Sorry for the quotes not having the name of the writer, I just new to using the forum)

I LOL’d hard. Excellent terminology and creativity, my friend.
Some good arguments:

And the reviews are obviously almost all here: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/halo-5-guardians
Hope these give some perspective.
It didn’t suck, it just wasn’t great and certainly didn’t match the hype (but what does these days?) Where I felt let down was:
- Blue Team was massively under used.
- It felt very short and too easy (on normal).
- The usual generic AI concerns.
There is so much hype these days. Not just from these huge, marketing campaigns that we see but from Youtube commenters, forum users and our own imagination. Now, the marketing campaign did feel out of kilter with the eventual story but community hype was the biggest influence in it being underwhelming in a few aspects.
I liked the campaign but it seemed lazy in places out of the 15 mission 3 or 4 of them involve talking to 3 people didnt see the point of those ones. It also felt the whole campaign was a build up for 6. 343 also did not help with thier ad campaign being no where near the direction the story went.
Besides this i loved the campaign mainly the fact that Buck was back
