Something that has bothered me about the Gravity hammer is how it gets twice as much energy as an energy sword. You get a max of 10 kills with every sword variant and can get 20 or more kills with the hammer do to the way it functions. Sure you lose energy even if you miss a swing but how often do you do that? I feel like the hammer should go back to consuming 8 energy per swing. Thoughts on this?
Hasn’t the hammer always used 5% per swing?
EDIT: Just saw that it was in campaign and firefight that it use 5%. MP uses 8.33%.
Energy sword uses energy. Gravity hammer uses gravity… Mind blown!

In previous halos it uses 8% in mp, However in h5 it uses only 5% in all modes.

Tbh the energy sword can lock onto the target with the “smart scope” giving it a much larger lock on range, while the hammer does not and much rasier to avoid if you time it right. I think its fine how it is now.

The hammer can do this too just not as far, unless you use corpsemaker in which case is just a ravening sliver with 2x energy and aoe.

Most people don’t even use the grav hammer.
The Gravity Hammer has shorter lunge distance than the Sword and consumes energy even when you miss, so it’s always had more energy the Sword. No reason it should change.
Energy sword = uncommon
Gravity hammer = rare
i prefer sword over hammer anyway… sword is more percise, i know ill get a kill when i lunge with a sword, its not always the case for a hammer.

This has nothing to do with it, They did the same thing with spnkr

It has always been like that which is why it use to drain only 8%. A good hammer user almost will never miss with it anyway so they are still getting about 20 kills with it assuming they don’t die. 13 swings sounds reasonable to me but 20?

Yeah, but then why doesn’t have unlimited… Oh no, 2012 confirmed.
