Why does the game take so long to kick AFK players?

I don’t know what it does either but I’ve been reporting everyone that’s AFK from my games. It’s pretty easy now and I have to do something while the next game loads.

It prob does. Honestly I always forget about that option.

Well most of the time people are actually there but they don’t want to play that gametype or map. If they quit to many matches they get ban and it messes up their Xbox Community Reputation which makes them get match up with others that do the same thing. But getting kicked is a whole different thing. Players that don’t move should be kicked after a few minutes and replace with a ODST Bot or another player.

If getting kicked for being AFK doesn’t count towards a quit ban I’d be surprised. Every other way of leaving a game, including crashing does but stranger things have happened in this game

Can anyone confirm if Xbox Community Reputation even has any impact in Infinte?

I get wanting to kick afk players but I don’t want a kicking system like GTA 5 that kick you out of the game for just running to the bathroom real fast.

The vast majority of games would be under 15 minutes. Surely you can go to the bathroom between them?

It should be 30-60 seconds to get kicked out and a 5-10 minute ban if you do it 3 times in a day.

If the player moved enough though and it all of the sudden went AFK to do something quick, then it should be 2-3 minutes max. I’ve seen some people though that press/hold 1 button the whole game to avoid getting kicked out but also do not contribute to the game at all so they should also count as AFK and be kicked out quickly.

I was gone for about a minute and GTA kick me.

I know nothing about GTA online or how the game is structured. That may be a totally valid complaint for GTA.

Infinite is set up with quite short games and I think it’s entirely reasonable to expect people to go to the bathroom between games and not something we should have to worry about when setting a reasonable timer for kicking AFK players.

I get kicked for inactivity while all I am seeing on my end is the loading screen, not even loaded into the match yet.

Plus for Halo you can’t even use the ‘auto queue’ excuse 'cos you have to manually reactivate the queue each time

This is a non issue since you can generally tell before you actually have to go that it’s coming up and can plan around that the vast majority of the time. If it actually effects you in an actually meaningful way, it most likely is bad judgement calls and planning on your side, not an issue the rest of your teammates should be having to deal with.

It won’t effect you in Free for All, since they don’t flag you for leaving those to my knowledge.

Thank god that didn’t come over from MCC. That was a very dumb feature to include in any game.
