Why does the DMR beat the BR at close range?

I don’t understand, can someone please explain this logic to me?

  1. Aim assist and Bullet Manetism
  2. Ease of use of the DMR
  3. Weak BR (should be a 4sk)
  4. Bungie never wanted them to be in the same game.

The BR has the same kill time of the DMR, so you should be able to to kill the enemy if you have the skill necessary to do so.
So to answer your question, the DMR guy is the better player.

The DMR and the BR do NOT have the same kill time. It’s been proven many times.

It happens both ways, and everything you said is -Yoink-. Whenever I use a DMR I always win against the BR at close range expecially.

“The BR has the same kill time of the DMR”.

The DMR has a quicker killtime than the BR, for some unknown reason.

To answer the thread’s question: it shouldn’t.

> I don’t understand, can someone please explain this logic to me?

Cuz the BR allows you to partially miss a shot but still score part of a shot, It also has better auto aim and gives 2 extra chances for a final headshot. It also slows retreating player MUCH MUCH more than the DMR does.

In short, the BR is simply easier to use in CQB just like AR is. Hence why it is limited. I would say a single shot precision weapon shoudl always have the edge over a weapon as forgiving as the BR is.

I use BR and storm now and this is the best of my results from just 5 games using it. I went positive every other time thogh save the last game when real life called

Im never using DMR/bolt again, love this combo!

And i alway’s seem to win, our skill’s are different.

i may be wrong, a source would be very helpful.

This is the best logic out of them all.

I really hope you didn’t take that one seriously… it has its truths but it was very sarcastic.

Bungie also gave push button invincibility get out of jail card

Bungie lost all credibility after that IMO

Bungie wanted the game to be ‘awesome’. So they put whatever their imaginations came up with in the game. Forge world for e.g.

This should help you out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sEcGZyU65CM

Yikes! Just realized that was the video from the E3 build of the game.
The new kill times are DMR=1.46 seconds, BR= 1.86 seconds which is significantly faster.

according to that video they both have 1.6 second kill time, so you just proved me right.
EDIT: Jesus, i sound like a -yoink!

Don’t make me laugh.

go to mlgpro.com
go to halo 4
go to 1 out of any 2 threads in that section
!?#!?@#?!#?!#!?#?!#?!#?

or
plug in 2 controllers
1 with br/ 1 with dmr
shoot at same time
you’ll notice that they both empty their clip at the same time
dmr has 2 more shots in a clip

voila

on a side note. i want to pull my hair out every time “people like you” try and spread some propaganda they heard over the interwebs.
please check your source before you completely lie to a guy’s face who is asking for the right answer

now 343 did say b4 halo 4 was released that the dmr would have the same speed as the br.
game was released. every1 was like wtf 343 lied to me!!!

all you need to know is that the dmr fires 7 shots in the time it takes the dmr to fire 6(roughly, not on a dime). now b/c of hitscan, the br will “trade” with the dmr if all 5 shots are hit, but if both ppl miss 1 shot, the dmr will always win.
also with the dmr, you only have to land 5 bullets. with the br you have to keep ur crosshair on your opponent the entire time while ur firing which is also more challenging.

Thank you. i got my all information from that video.

The sad thing is, bungie never meant to have the br and dmr be in the same game. The dmr was supposed to be the army “equivalent” to the marine br, which is why reach had the dmr and halos 2 and 3 had the br.

Then someone thought it was a good idea to cater to halo 3 and reach players by changing up the canon and having both in instead of continuing the mm of halo 3. Now we are stuck at this problem where we have two different weapons that served pretty much the same purpose in the first games they were in, and now somehow serve different roles in halo 4.

The dmr is nice and everything, but its only been in one other game. The br has been in two. That being said, I know which of the two I want to go.
