Why Does the Didact Dislike Humanity?

From what I read(skimmed through the books) the Didact seems to be ok with that Chakas guy (I think he’s human). So why does he hate humanity now?

No hate if I get something wrong please.

We have no idea, less so since we don’t know WHICH Didact we are dealing with.

> We have no idea, less so since we don’t know WHICH Didact we are dealing with.

so the didact from the books is good? Didn’t he activate a ring or something?

Because of global warming.

> We have no idea, less so since we don’t know WHICH Didact we are dealing with.

We kind of do.

It was the original Human vs Forerunner War, he doesn’t like Humans very much because they killed many of his soldiers and his children. But he also respects the Humans because they was fighting a to sided war, one side with the Forerunners, and the other side with the flood, if it wasn’t for the flood, the Human race would of won the war.

Because we have BACON !!!

We don’t even know which Didact necessarily activated the rings.

Well there was that whole Forerunner-Human War thing.

He’s racist.

We don’t know.

The Bornstellar Didact liked Humans, but he was nearly completely taken by the Ur-Didact’s memories.

The Ur-Didact has unpleasant memories of the Human-Forerunner War, where his children were killed.

The Didact is also said to have bad rage issues, where the Librarian needs to temper his rage.

Then there is also the possibility of corruption, insanity by the Primordial.

Add all that together and there is a good possibility of the Didact being less than pleased with seeing Humans in his Shield World.

I’m going with corruption. The Didact(s) wouldn’t suddenly feel like killing Humanity. Even the Ur-Didact recognized Humanity’s actions in the war against him, they were escaping the Flood.

> Well there was that whole Forerunner-Human War thing.

Something he quickly got over when he found out about the Flood and how it pushed the humans to encroach on Forerunner territory.

They stole his twinky

> They stole his twinky

I was actually thinking the same thing. Why in the new vidoc do we see(if we stop at a certain frame) a large, blue, glowing Twinkie. It was weird. But I guess that this is the answer. Thanks man!

I thought it was Ur-Didact that activated them.

Silentium’s description leans towards that, but Greg Bear has been known to throw us curve balls.

what is the difference between the 2 Didacts?

Ur-Didact: The original Didact.

Bornsteller-Didact: A Forerunner who was turned into the Didact through a genetic imprint given to him by the Ur-Didact.

It’s hard to really explain.
