Umm? Halo 2 is widely regarded as the best Halo game and it had no AR. The AR is used by beatdown scrubs that can’t aim or time their shots.
You still have to aim the AR.

Please play the game. Then realise how much bigger the radical is and how much more aim assist there is.
Why does the BR exist? It’s a bad gun compared to the Carbine, DMR and Light Rifle, it’s useless

Halo: CE was the game that started this all or else you wouldn’t even have a Halo 2. I don’t care if you regard Halo 2 as the best Halo game but in my eyes, the AR is the gun that needs to stay in the game.

If people with ARs are taking you down when you have a BR, you either:
- Aren’t very good with the BR.
- You let an AR user get too close to you.
- They were just better than you.

For one, Halo is not a Battle Rifle game. One rifle should not rule them all. And for one the MA5B Assault Rifle was the first rifle in the Halo games’ history. The weapon is an iconic face of the UNSC arsenal, and Master Chief’s rifle of choice.
Show some respect for an awesome piece of weaponry. Just because you can’t always destroy 100% of the time with your precious Battle Rifle doesn’t mean you have to go bashing other weapons on this site. They all equally have their purpose in the game, well, minus the DMR. The UNSC Marines left the DMR for the Battle Rifle as their medium-long range engagement weapon, leaving the Army as the only branch using it. In Halo 4, subtracting the few Spartan IVs that originated in the Army (example: Spartan Thorne), all the UNSC personel were Marines.
Please don’t diss the AR. That was the first gun I’ve ever used in a video-game, and it is the iconic weapon of Halo. Notice how the Chief is holding it in every title that features the AR.
A lot of fans and I love it, so please be respectful and don’t be one of those “BR is superior to every other gun” MLG kids.

I hate people that think because something was first it was the best. It doesn’t matter if it started it all. The Model T started it but but it is in no way the best car. Why do you think competitive players used the pistol? Anyway the AR in Halo 1 is not same AR as in Reach/3/4.

Firstly, you must learn how the species interacts with its fellow -Yoink!--sapiens. It usually attempts to make outrageous remarks with little to no accuracy behind it.
Secondly, you must not feed the troll. This usually can be achieved a handful of ways. Completely ignoring it or correcting it then stepping away from the discussion.
In this scenario, OP wants to know why the AR exists. If OP knew anything about Halo, he would probably know that the AR is the staple weapon in Halo. Proof.
Now that I have corrected him, I must walk slowly out of the cage, as feeding it anymore is playing into its hands.

Actually I have, I started with Halo 2, and it’s my least favorite Halo, even Wars was better, in 2 i always outplayed people with the Carbine

Okay then…don’t use it if you don’t want to. However, if you find AR users a huge problem…maybe you should look at yourself. I mean, it isn’t like the DMR which is incredibly good at any range, it is a close-quarter weapon.
As for you, Bean Head200, if you really knew Waypoint, you’d know that people like this aren’t necessarily trolls.

I’m not talking about the story I’m talking about the game play/gun and it’s noobs friendly mechanics. I’m sick of modern Halo games catering to CoD rats that can’t use a precision weapon.
