Why does Team Throwdown have a low pop?

Considering how its plays alot like the halo 3-type gameplay everyone wants?..

I mean, to me, It feels like of the best playlists in halo 4 right now. There’s more map variety, a good mix of team slayer and objective types, and Armor abilities as P.O’s rather then spawn weapons…

And, most importantly, it feels more like classic halo, with new, innovative features without compromising on what makes halo great…

All im saying is, if 343 treated more playlists like they did with Team Throw down, then Halo 4 would be a MUCH better game.

I haven’t played it yet but will check it out.

God forbid there is variety in Team Throwdown. Oh well, it’s for competitive players anyway.

Fun to play, but hard to approach. The playlist often pairs you with crappy teammates against an incredibly overly skilled team that you stand no match against or vice versa. It really isn’t that fun unless you get those rare games where it’s completely equal skill wise and it becomes that classic Halo experience where you fight for the win. At least that’s my experience.

i still think it can work as the defualt Infinity slayer playlist for future games…

beats the Infinity slayer playlist we have now ( not team slayer)

Back in H3, I would’ve agreed with you about Throwdown being a great playlist. Now given where I am in life and whatnot I can’t play Halo as competitively and I’ve been warped by the AAs and bloom and general “random” changes introduced in Reach.

Basically, now I want my Ordinance, Armor Abilities, and Radar. I have learned how to utilize them in all sorts of manners to supplement my gameplay such that I like the additional benefits I can get. I can prolong my sprees with free snipers/shotguns. I also like the lack of friendly fire so I’m not killed by overeager teammates like in Reach. I also like having my radar so I don’t have to rely on amazing/friendly/talkative teammates to help me have a good game.

I can understand where you’re coming from though. They should lift the DLC requirement on Infinity Slayer for “casuals” like me, and focus on promoting Throwdown for “classic/pro/etc” fans like you so we can all have a fun time. They can create separate DLC pro/casual playlists for DLC owners. We can all be happy - casual/competitive, DLC/non-DLC, etc. Playlist consolidation is not consolidating the population - it is dividing it by cutting out groups. There comes a point where you just can’t consolidate stuff further.

The competitive playlist of any game always has the lowest population. Although Team Throwdown is easily the most competitive and ‘classic’ playlist, it is the least accessible for the casual player and therefore less people play it. This is also not helped by 343 putting the playlist near the bottom of the playlist menu (an area the majority of players don’t even look at).

Eh, no surprise not many people want a stripped down version of halo 4. Can’t pick your gun, no AA, forced explosive/resupply, no thanks. Get with the times team throwdown. Your not “competitive” your archaic.

I really love team throwdown, but damn, it’s always so low on population that I end up never playing it

I really wish this was sarcasm. However I know it is not O.O facedesks

IKR, Infinity slayer is amazing!!! You can tell by how big H4’s population is.

After so many months of not playing or visiting the forums I still can see people defending this game… I mean, come on guys you are not helping 343 with Halo 5 …

BTW now that I realize, I could farm stats way easier on Infinity slayer than on Halo Reach’s living dead playlist… Oh yeah, always playing solo.

Sadly enough it isn’t.

Heres an idea…

Why not make a social playlist for the new features, and a default 1 with team throwdown features?

this guy REALLY wants halo to have modern-shooter COD like gameplay, doesn’t he?

Just about all of his posts and threads revolve around it.

I honestly don’t think Throwdown feels anything like previous Halo games. It just feels like it’s the best it can do with all the changes.

Because it strips away many of the things that make Infinity appealing to the people left playing the game.

“Get with the times”.

That was an impressive argument when I was 9, not so much anymore.

Sammy likes iS better than classic settings; no crime there.

I like both but just fix the lag, lol. That is all ‘this guy’ posts about anymore :-/ Sooooo frustrating.

I’ll take a new mode where I dress up my Spartan barbies if I can do it with better host selection!

I think 343 did, it was called Legendary Slayer and it was also unpopular.

That’s because it was treated more as just another play rather than a constantly updated, default playlist like capture the flag, Big team, Ect…
Also it was lacking in map and game modes, with most matches either coming down to Haven or Shutout.
Also, they didnt even bother to update that playlist until it was too late to save it

If 343 could could bring us these 2 suggested playlist with A WIDE VARIETY OF MAPS AND GAME MODES then they will work just fine

I know what you mean, I stop playing the game for 2 months just because of that lag

The only reason I came back was because I beat Black ops zombies origins and wanted check out the new updates
