Why does social feel sweaty, but ranked feel casual

I think most of us have played the beta to know what its like. To me these settings I think are backwards for competitive (fierce) and social (casual).

First how I perceive the two types to be. Ranked is cooperative (teams that talk and use call outs), Killing is most important, Power Weapons are highly controlled.

Social is Rando’s running around randomly (usually away from teammates), maybe half the team is actually doing the objective, Power Weapons are nice but people drive off in solo in the warthog instead. beep Beep!

Radar, should be in Ranked and used like a train to increase combat encounters (fierce/sweaty). If your team has skilled cooperation and working together with the short range of the radar, player A should be calling out to players B,C ,and D. One radar is short but 4 radars is big. “Together Apes Strong.” Caesar Leader of the Apes.

Radar, Social should be limited or gone to decrease combat encounters (casual/laid back). This allows players to a little breathing room. Rando’s don’t check it most of the time anyway and most don’t call anything out because they don’t even use a mic.

What do you think? Does the radar seem backwards?

Grenade hit markers.
These can and are used to increase combat encounters. If you know someone is weak you tend to push on them. Along with nade spawn hunting. If there is no hit marker people hesitate, decreasing aggressive actions.

Is Grenade Hit Marker Hunting social to you? Or is that something a skilled team in ranked should be doing?

No secondary. I love this in Ranked I wish it was in social. I would pick up the Sidekick in social over a lot of the other guns out there, I would even pick it up in ranked as it is right now. Since it is better that most other guns people tend to keep their starting weapons in social. They bypass the mid tier and go straight for the power weapons if they do swap out.

The BR start is great in ranked and it does encourage mid range combat. Which takes melee out of most encounters decreasing how sweaty they feel. No need to spam the trigger just the nice cadence.

AR is a run ‘n’ gun, spray ‘n’ pray, the closer the better to punch with kinda gun. I would call those moments intense.

Edit: I forgot Friendly Fire. FF prevents a lot of nade spamming in teamate close encounters. Which decreases combat intensity due to players hesitating on the nade and opting for a clean up kill. No FF is just chaos. we’ve all seen it.

Ranked is advertised as competitive but with these settings its kinda chill. Maybe i’m wrong but with all the player enhancing equipment on top of the scienced the Blam out of it gameplay. Social feels sweaty to me and Ranked laid back. What do you think?

  • Yes, agreed, casual seems sweaty do to certain settings.
  • No, disagree, nade hunting is the same as pre-nading.
  • Indifferent, it is what it is.
  • Protest, OP has too much time on their hands, Blam.

I disagree, I find that ranked games are always hard and in fact I lose a lot of my matches, social is more enjoyable imo

Killing is not most important in objective. I have won obj game where all mates had bad KD ratio because we know strategic throw ie, dead in sake cancelling enemy converting our zone.

To the original title topic, IMO it’s because ranked people actually play more carefully and both side think same. In casual we just go gunblazing/aim for challenge and then the skill gap naturally take over.

yeah no they arent, the game is designed so everyone thinks their good.

Yet this game has the lowest aim assist of any halo game ever…

and the highest magnetism ever. Strongest AR ever. BTB with random weapon drops.

BTB AR starts. No slayer option, little to no slayer games. Yea this game is designed for everyone to think their good.

Have you tried ranked? You dont lose ronk on a loss. you dont lose rank at all unless you quit or get kicked out.

This is toddler call of halo infinite warfare

I don’t mean win/loss ratio. I’m talking about in a match, in the moment. A BR gun fight at range with an enemies variety back up. Which you can duck around a corner and even get hurt with a nade and run away in any direction because of no radar, and the other player has no tools to help them follow you or tell if they got damage on you with a blind nade.

VS,

Nearly every action on radar shows other where opponents are and can blind nade and receive damage feedback to push. With your AR or
the predictable spammy pistol and end in a melee fight. Which if they try to flee you can just follow them on the radar if they are just out of eyesight but still close enough to see which direction they run.

Both can have intense moments but one has more than the other. I believe this has to due with the settings and not the players just being careful.

no its the players. most players dont leave the room they are fighting from. They dont push each other at all.

Anyone who plays aggressive gets smoked because its better to play defensive in this game. First shot matters too much

yes it is. to rank up fast you dont have to win, just get a good K/D ratio. The obj points give little to no rank. Just play for kills.

Yes the Ar is too strong but aiming is still hard
I enjoy btb, I don’t like random weapons but I still like it in general

I played ranked and in the last 2 days I won 8 matches and lost 24… I had a positive kd most of them, so yeah, the game is definitely for toddlers when a veteran player like me that has played halo since 2005 can’t win consistently…
