Why does skill affect your deaths?

Why does the way you die affect people? I’ve noticed a large amount of aggravation which stems from the method people die. I’ve never really had a problem with the method I die, just the fact that I die.

To make a silly all-or-nothing comparison, I’ll use Armour Lock and Snipers.

What is the difference between a death where someone reflects a rocket back at you with Armour Lock and where you run around a corner and are instantly sniped by someone across the map?

In any other Halo game a rocket would have killed you.

Without armor lock you would have had the kill and not a death, as for the cross map there isn’t really much you can do about it.
