This happened to my girlfriend, she literally said wtf.
Because 343 are incompetant game designers.
I hate that map.
I have not played Halo 4 matchmaking in weeks, but I can tell I’m not missing out on anything. Thank God I never played on that map, I have heard nothing good about it.

The bad news is it hasnt got any better only worse.They did nerf the gauss hog though which greatly improved Exile.
LMAO this explains why I saw like 7 suicides in a row when my team was spawn killing the other team.
Because Settler sucks.
Okay, it doesn’t suck. But I really don’t like the map and it sucks in my eyes.
Settler is a boring map, so I always vote against it.
Thankfully I have not encountered this yet; however, I would not be surprised if I did, this map is just horrid and unpolished.
Probably an oversight. I myself have goofed up with spawns in deadzones. However, I do test my maps out to see what is out of place and later fix it, so I cannot say that this goof up is excusable.
Please updated your maps, 343 and/or Certain Affinity.
Lol i spawned 4 times in a row into the death spawn…needless to say I quit that match and what a surprise, my CSR went down…Halo 4 is dying fast

Its still there today, got me 4-5 times so @ quit and CSR will go down of course. How professional of them.
Its honestly as careless as Forgers who leave the default spawn points on areas of the map outside their constructed zone.
So many great fan-made maps, and the only BTB map they pick is Settler? I mean it’d be great if the DMR and light rifle weren’t in play. Since most games are just a spawn kill fest because you can be on the other side of the map and easily 5 shot people because of amount of aim assist.

There are a number of forge issues with many of the maps… That one happens to be the most in-your-face…

I wonder more how we still don’t have any Forge Island maps in play yet.
OP, Settler still has that problem with the spawns.
