I’ve had teams all with mics an no one says anything. What happened, who hurt you guys so much?
Maybe they aren’t very social or don’t understand the importance of good callouts?
Better than annoying teammates play random music in the background or saying the oddest junk!
I know for me personally. I will occasionally jump into game chat and see if someone is in there… If no one responds when I ask if someone is there, I got back to party chat. I’d rather chat with friends in party that aren’t playing Halo than sit in quiet trying to give callouts to a team that doesn’t return the courtesy, however that’s just me.
i am a very quite lone wolf player, so inever used to talk while gaming.
And mst of the time i mute everyone bevor the game starts. Most of the mic users anoy me more then they try to comunicate
I don’t have a working mike…so I feel kinda left out when other people talk. So I keep everyone muted.
Yeah I dont think muting is a good idea (unless person is annoying), but hearing where one shot people are is super important.
I need more people from the forums to play with. It’s the only reliable way to have any communication. I always have my headset on. Each game I ask if anyone is using their headset. Usually I get no response. Occasionally I’ll get a cough or a kid screaming in the background. If I’m lucky, I get both.

lol true, but ive noticed if I get in with friends (there is 3 of us) the other guy usually talks and calls out. More than when I get in solo NO ONE says anything.
Because every time I do, I find toxic players be so annoying sending annoying messages, or they have some crap going in the background that I don’t want to hear.
You don’t want my mic on when I turn a corner and there’s a random guy with a shotty. You really don’t.
For me doing it comes in ebbs and flows.
I’ll have my mic on for a little while, might get lucky and have a bunch of good communicators, but then get double the amount of poor communicators, and it just puts you off using your mic. So I put it back behind the xbox and I cbf getting it for ages again.
The general populace’s trouble with displaying simple respect to others tends to ruin the whole mic experience.
When it comes to communication on xbox trash talkers have ruined it for alot of us whether it’s in sports game or fps, call outs used to be a thing but d bag racists and trolls have dropped the ball for us

Sure. You can add me.
I rarely talk with random players in Halo. I usually just talk to my friends while we play
Bugs the crap out of me - playing a team based game, one were knowning enemy positions, status, team mate positions, pushes etc are hugely important to success - yet so few folks actually communicating…
I mean, we have all had annoying folks on chat, bad music, screaming kids, abuse etc but why deliberatly bone yourself and your teammates by not doing something so simple? If someone is a front bum simply mute them then report them, but don’t front bum your team simply because a bad man once suggested he had adult realtions with your mother, that goes just as much for the non micers as much as for folks in party chat but playing solo…
Back in Halo 2 I would be in sweat-fest mode on the mic 24/7, but now tbh I just don’t care enough to talk and make callouts I’d much rather just have fun and talk to friends in party chat
I hate: people that scream, crying babies, nagging wives, dogs barking, loud music, clicking, people asking for my reqs in WZ, people caring on conversation with however is sitting with them on their couches, I’m in a party chat, and so on. That’s why I don’t mic. If I even hear a peep, I immediately mute all players.

So the people who actually use their mics ruined it for people who don’t?
They need to bring back global proximity chat.
