I find it one of the funnest of the game types but whenever I click on it, it won’t find a match. The same thing happens with breakout which I think was a really good idea as well. Does no one want to play the new game modes?
FFA is a frustrating experience. Sometimes you just get moshed because you keep getting caught in between other players. For a playlist that relies on individual skill over team skill there sure is a lot of luck and chance when it comes to being in the right place at the right time.
If they had a head to head playlist, I would give that a shot.
I play FFA a lot and use the focused search and never have a problem finding a game. I love FFA in H5. It’s the best it’s been since H3.
I think it has something to do with FFA not being too familiar with Halo. It’s mostly a new addition to some players and if some plays FFA for the first time and they don’t like it they might not play again.

I LOVED free for all in halo 3. But gate it in 5. Why because the pistol. Ruined the funn of it. Its pop shots and camping galore

Because it’s broken and badly designed in H5. I loved free for all in past Halo games but free for all just feels like CoD due to the over-use of weapons like BR, the broken radar. Free for all in H5 is more about camping now.
A lot of scummy kill stealing. Oh there’s two people having s good battle throw a nade or two free double!!! Ffa does not take skill it’s about how many kills can you jack from the others having a decent 1v1
FFA takes the most skill out of any playlist. The only people who say it doesn’t are the ones who are bad at it. But I don’t get why any would say they can’t find games in it. I play at all hours due to my shift work and even early early morning hours on east coast times I find games.

No it doesn’t in H5. Most of the game is about 3/4 BR spam, flinch and it’s got just as bad as modern CoD.
Im decent at it but i just dont like the mode. It gets my anxiety going to much lol

Haha you must be playing a different FFA then. There are limited BRs in ffa. So they don’t get spammed at all IMO… Also some maps are small enough where you can out pistol them… if you have the skill that is…

Maybe they’ve updated it since I last played it but the general impression is it was just a twitch shooter with long range weapons only, the maps were pretty awful to endless forge maps and the radar still broken since launch due to poor game design choice from dev’s. Skill?..it’s just walking around aimlessly and spamming BR type weapons, there’s really not much to it and it ends up feeling more like CoD.
Ok so no one likes free for all but you have to admit Breakout is fun because theres more adrenaline but no one plays that either.

You have to play smart. Hide, try to keep a wall to your back, stalk players, & choose your battles wisely, no ‘run n gun’ here. You are by yourself, with five other players who wanna kill you bad. Think more like Batman, less like Robocop.
Free for all is fantastic, but by far the most nerve racking gaming experience for me lol! So rewarding when you do well.

H5 is nothing like COD… FFA is played on the same maps as the 4v4 playlist. It plays just like the 4v4 except it’s 1v5 essentially.

Lol you obviously don’t know much about FFA or the strategy involved. Yes kill stealing is a part of it, but so are power weapon control, power up control, and strategic map movement. If you think it takes no skill, it’s probably because you played it a few times, got your -Yoink- kicked in, and quit because you didn’t do well. Watch players like vetoed, kampy, Shak3, etc and then tell me there’s no skill involved.

FFA definitely takes skill, to deny that is just ridiculous. To those of you who say it doesn’t, I’m guessing that you’re all high champions? Should be easy to get there if no skill is involved?
As for FFA not being played, I think there’s a few factors. Firstly, a lot of people like playing with their friends, and FFA is a solo experience. I’d guess that is a big part of it.
Secondly, FFA can be a frustrating experience, and takes a certain mindset to play well. I do play FFA, but find it the most stressful of gametypes and am not always in the mood for it. It’s almost always a sweaty experience, and if I play badly, nobody is going to help me out.
Kill stealing is a huge part of it, and in some games it feels like no matter what you do you can’t seem to get ahead. It requires a lot of cunning, and listening out for gun fights, just so that you can quickly mop up the weaker players while they’re fighting each other.
And the frustration can also come in a close game, where you have been in 1st place the entire game, but you’re on 21 kills and everyone else is on 20. You spawn, and feel someone’s pistol shooting you from behind, and die. Suddenly you’ve lost the lead, quickly you try to find someone to kill but get shot down again. Suddenly you’re in last place… someone else has the lead and the game is over. That can be annoying as hell.
So yeah, I think that you just have to be in the right mood to play it, as it’s a tough playlist. Sometimes I really enjoy FFA and can play it for ages, other times I’m just not in the mood for the sweatiness, or my friends are on and I’d rather be social.
I do not like FFA cause I am a team player tbh, and I like to play in fireteams
