Why does MLG types cry about this game?

Really. All I hear from that community is just how bad and easy Halo 4 is.

Ok. If it is sooo easy and they are so “good” (notice how I used " " with that), then why are they crying about it?

They should be going like 50-0 in every game and win about every match and simply dominating.

I just do not get what the issue is. Halo 4 is the best Halo online ever and 343i should be proud of this amazing game.

I think you’re missing a great deal of why this game is currently inferior to the others.

I’ll start you off: they would find it easy even if they game wasn’t inherently easy, and the fact that it is this easy doesn’t mean they’ll do even better, it means people of limited skill by comparison can do well.

Make a game where people blow up unarmed grunts with rocket launchers.

It’s fun for the first few minutes, but after awhile you get bored because there is no challenge. The game dies.

Now, a new game that is basically the same comes along where the grunts and the rockets are reskinned, and it’s hyped in popular media.

This is how casual games work.

> (notice how I used " " with that)

Well aren’t you clever.

No, one does not have to be good to be an “MLG type”. They just have to want to actually be challenged. Even someone with a 0.5 k/d who seeks out competition can be considered a competitive player.

MLG is, in my opinion, a joke. They are just as much a joke as someone who considers themselves “Pro”. If I were to judge on my past experiences, the average MLG player is the equivalent of the overreactive 9-12 year old. I know that’s not what they are all like, but the bad ones keep me from taking them seriously.

halo 4 is still better then reach… IMO

…and that’s why it’s boring. Which is why we “cry” (notice how I used " " with that), about it. It is too easy. Easy to rank up, easy to get kills, easy to do practically everything in the game. It’s still fun though, it would just be better if it were more along the lines of Halo 3 with the same ranking system. I miss my 5-star general.

I actually think its rather funny that 343i is more likely to invite and listen to the opinions of those whiney MLG types than any one person who “loved” halo 4.

These are just a few
Random ordinance is not good for competitive play
There are about one maybe two maps MLG can even use.
Unbalanced weapons
Custom game options are horrible for MLG

Halo 4 is the most noobified Halo of them all.

You have obviously never played the first Halos if you think…gulp…Halo 4 is the best

> I actually think its rather funny that 343i is more likely to invite and listen to the opinions of those whiney MLG types than any one person who “loved” halo 4.

Well, they did also give the game to select Rooster Teeth employees. How much feed back they got from them on the other hand…

lemieux, I don’t think you understand the implications of the game being “bad and easy”. Basically, the easier the game is, the less skill there is required for ANYONE to get a kill. This means it does not matter how much skill you have, much as if everyone had a Rocket Launcher (extreme scenario). Halo 4 is lowering this skill gap that it takes to perform well, much more than Reach did anyways.

More skilled players cannot win every game when many factors of the game rely on chance. Randomness does not promote competition.

> Which is why we “cry” (notice how I used " " with that), about it.

Yep. I did see that. Would be clever use if not copying what someone already did. Looks just pretty much lame now.

> Randomness does not promote competition.

OP does not care.

He just wants to play for “fun”, to hell with competitive playing. They don’t matter apparently.

Haha now I get it, its all caboos-…I mean its all Joels fault.

You have crazy aim assist and ridiculous bullet magnetism for an OP weapon (DMR), it’s a handicapped weapon for newcomers who have no past halo experience. If you’d played Halo 2/3 then you’d know that actually landing a 4sk with the BR took some skill.

Also, you had a ranking system that promoted competitive play, being a 50 was remarkable im some playlists. It actually served as a skill indicator. I destroyed inheritors in halo: reach and SR-100+'s in Halo 4, because you rank up for playing. The system is a joke, it’s basically a “thanks for playing, here’s your reward.”

> You have obviously never played the first Halos if you think…gulp…Halo 4 is the best

Purchased the Xbox 1 launch day and Halo 1 with it. Purchased Halo 2 LE launch day. Purchased Halo 3 launch day. Purchased Reach console and legendary edition launch day. Purchased Halo 4 LE and console launch day.

Beta tested Xbox Live over 10 years ago and never lapsed in membership.

So yea, pretty sure I played Halo before.

> If you’d played Halo 2/3 then you’d know that actually landing a 4sk with the dmr took some skill.

The DMR didn’t exist until Reach and magnetism, while less than it is now, was still ridiculous.

I corrected my post, apparently just not in time. I’ve been a bit out of it today

“If you’d played Halo 2/3 then you’d know that actually landing a 4sk with the dmr took some skill”.

If you’d played H2 or 3, you’d know…

:stuck_out_tongue: All good.

I’m an MLG type and my biggest complaint is the lack of a visible 1-50 ranking system. My next biggest complaint is the lack of custom game/forge options that could theoretically fix the issues this game currently faces (weapon balance, disappearing weapons, etc).

The core mechanics are there though. The strafing, the jumping, the majority of weapons all scream Halo! If custom games are fixed, I think we would have the best competitive multiplayer currently on the market.

“If custom games are fixed, I think we would have the best competitive multiplayer currently on the market”.

Even as H4 currently is it’s one of, if not the most, competitive shooter out there… sad state of shooters/games nowadays.

The core is there, I agree with you. Just needs to be retrieved from under all the crap by the developers.
