Locke I swear if you kill chief I’m done with halo. In my opinion Locke ain’t gonna beat Chief.
Unknown why mate. You could always spoil yourself by watching all the cutscenes on the Internet from people who somehow got the game early or you can buy the game next week and find out yourself. Your choice.
I don’t think that Locke and Osiris are out to kill Chief and Blue Team, rather just bring them back into the fold. I mean, could you imagine the backlash if 343i killed Chief & Blue Team off in the fifth main game? It would be colossal, to say the least.
Locke is hunting the Master Chief because that is what he has been ordered to do. He is a soldier, after a fashion, and soldiers follow orders.
He’s definitely following orders but maybe its a little bit because scuttlebutt is saying Spartan IV’s are mere shadows of the Spartan II’s… In Nightfall he seemed to be more of the humble sort, so I look forward to seeing if his real intentions lie any deeper than just “following orders”.
OP, if you saw the launch trailer and analyzed it, there’s a part where Locke is pointing a BR at Master Chief from behind and says, “117! Stand down! This is your one chance to come home peacefully!”
Meaning that ONI/UNSC want Chief back alive if possible. Otherwise he’ll be seen as a liability that must be dealt with. Locke is that one guy that has the dirty job of doing so if that were to happen.
No… Locke won’t beat Master Chief.
Btw, Master Chief is a good wrestler! 
Based on the live action trailers it looks like Chief is activating the guardians, which is destroying outer colonies. So, ONI thinks he’s turned evil. Probably won’t be exactly how it plays out in game.
Orders
He believes MC defected and is cracking under the pressure over Cortana. He thinks he is doing what is right.
Because the Master Chief illegally went AWOL and is believed to be activating Promeatheans and Guardians, which have resulted in the deaths of numerous civilians and the destruction of colonies such as Conrad’s Point, Ursa IV, and Meridian, if the trailers are to believed. So far, Locke’s done nothing to indicate he has any sort of beef with the Chief. If anything, he’s probably the one “hunting the truth”. You have to remember that Locke doesn’t have the luxury of breaking the 4th wall to understand the Chief’s motivations.
