Its been 4 months! At least 343 could tackle that issue quickly??
Anyone have any ideas what’s causing it?
I’m not networking savy, so you’d have to explain to me.
Desync right from the moment you load the game you get desync from the server???
Sorry, bud I was being more facetious. I honestly couldn’t tell you, unless it’s the time it takes to somehow start the engine necessary for the game to run, I’m not tech savvy in the programing field.
343i, bring back open lobbies and open communication.
I agree. Never have i seen a game take so long to load. It takes several minutes sometimes just to get loaded up to view the challenges, or see any skins. Its crazy slow.
Yeah the game loads pretty quick for me but some of the menus often take a while to load and it isn’t always right at the start of a game, sometimes it happens after a match.
Been like that for me since launch.
Yeah, its frustrating when you first load up the game. Or when you get out of a match and want to check your challenges but you have to just sit there twiddling your thumbs while you wait for it to load.
I can almost guarantee you that we will have to wait way longer.
Halo 5’s UI has the same issue since 2015. 7 years. A lot of these problems haven’t been fixed.
I honestly think that it is somehow embarrassing (as Microsofts biggest First Party Studio) not beeing able to implement Quick Resume properly into your game. The feature is still broken and does more harm, than good. It works perfectly fine with Forza Horizon 5 (another game made by a Microsoft Studio)
That’s funny, I’ve never experienced any sort of loading time issues with halo 5’s menu.
The only thing I can think of that’s comparable is the occasional store load and maybe the odd req load, but nothing that would consistently hinder my experience like infinites loading times.
I would think that this has to do with the specific device that you’re running the game on.
What exactly is “sooooo long to load?”
Thats what you get if you recruit your UI/UX designers from craigslist. Hell, not even 1st semester design students would screw up so bad…
I heard it’s because Infinite is just poorly optimized for PC. This seems to affect AMD greatly as it forces AMD to reload all the shaders on every start up cos the cache system got screwed up sometime after launch. For Nvdia, this problem doesn’t occur as frequently.
This was NEVER the case until the December patch, and shortly after that, the game started loading slowly on startup.
Game loads slow on xbone but instantly on series x (via xcloud). From that experience I draw the conclusion that hardware matters. I can’t speak for PC.
But frankly, all technology these days is fraught with minor frustrations such as these. The phone I’m typing on at this very moment frequently needs me to slow down typing so it can catch up. My car radio only syncs with my phone probably half the time. Wife’s car trunk pops open on its own almost daily. Modern technology is not the future we were promised.
Loading that big paywall my dude…
I can get into a game faster than the BP or store loads lol
The store and the challenge menu in the top right hand corner at the start
But are you paying for something that works or something that kinda works? Are you ok with kinda works?
Would you be ticked off if you took your car to the shop for a brake repair and they kinda fixed it?
Thats exactly what’s wrong with gaming today. Attitudes like yours (and I don’t mean that in a defamatory way and if you do take offence, I apologize) are what allowing the industry to get away with this nonsense.
Like when you purchase something, there’s an expectation that it’s in 100% working order.
When brand new, Even if it’s free, there’s still a basic expectation of that. Yes there will always be defects, but there’s a pride of the product companies put out.
Developers today are getting away with this crap because we allow it. Look at all the major titles RIGHT NOW that are in shambles.
For stuff like the challenges, store, playlist images, etc, it’s because none of that is cached on the client side so you have to load them from the servers every time.
This. I’m pretty sure a big part of this is so much of the menu has to sync up with servers. Same why equipping pieces feels clunkier than it should, its probably double checking with servers to make sure you actually have it.
There’s a lot that is embarrassing about this game. A lot of which signals that Microsoft really doesn’t care about the franchise as much anymore. After MCC, 5 and now Infinite being mismanaged, they don’t appear to be doing much if anything to fix the management problem or allocate the proper amount of resources to the game. Though, I do think that the only reason the game is in a working state is because of Joe Staten. Maybe he can help turn the studio around, maybe not. But as of right now I am not confident with 343’s development strategy and I believe that a massive restructuring is needed. Time will tell if 343 can regain their footing and transform the studio into something fans can be proud of. But the fans might not be around that long. It’s very sad if anything.
The point has been explained time and time again, but I love this game at its core. The gameplay is 343’s best outing so far. But it becomes more and more difficult as time goes on to look beyond the game’s issues.
@Saint_Budden
What platform are you playing on?
Because from my experience on the Xbox One, the game chugs a bit and the menus take 4-6x longer to load than my Xbox Series X.
My loading is done within five seconds most of the time.
because modern games being optimized is just too much to ask now a days. legit even when it loads, be it menues or PNGs for things… it’l have a chance to show the placeholders. specifically for the BP and event images. heroes of reach showing Reach’s cover art, and the events always showing some sort of artwork of either H2 or H3. showing a red spartan with i think a shotgun… eitherway, 6 years for terrible menues, this’s sad
