I was playing BTB heavies when I noticed 4 guys in their base.They looked like they were talking because they were in a party so I decided to interfere with their plan.
I saw a ghost nearby and jumped for it, then quickly boosted towards their base.
I was almost about to run all 4 of them over when it showed the screen with the scores for 5 minutes. As soon as it started the 4 players had noticed me while I was running towards them.
Because of this I had lost all my momentum and they stole my ghost and oone of them assasinated me.
Why does it randomly show a black screen with the scoreboard?
Its so annoying IMO, especially when it takes so long for it to start again.

I get this all the time usually when I’m about to kill someone, it makes me wonder if they are doing something in game to keep me from killing them.
yes, they do it on purpose. They are “black screening’” and you will notice people also do it to respawn heavy weapons so they can either have two of something (wraith, etc.) or bet an extra sniper, and get the ammo or another one so they have two players armed. Annoying and unfair, but what can you do? No one seems to be able to monitor this.
This when you are have one these happen-
long distance matches
multiple people quit
the server for the match is bad
multiple people have a bad connection
you have a bad connection
Not much you can do, I get them all the time. you just have to live with it.
Dedicated servers solve this problem.

No it doesn’t, Gears of war 3 has dedicated servers and it still lags if someone has a bad connection. Plus, what would dedicated servers do to stop the host boosters?
Black screens OP, have been happening since release and will continue to happen. Sorry to say, but what can we do but complain. Just hope yours goes away before the enemy’s next time, lol.

exatcly. i like reach but i quit solely for the connection.bad network starts in june last year then, in october the connection start getting better to be even worse than before in late april.
its so much hard to put reach in the disc tray while other games gives you lag free enjoyable online matches
pls 343 the only thing that i want you to copy from MW 3 is connection PLS match people by latency in halo 4
Something like this happened to me when I was playing FFA. >_< I started going somewhere, the screen did that, when it was back, three people already had a kill.
Today it happened during rocket ctf in action sack. Right as I shot a rocket out it black screened, then when it ends it says I suicided since I was in jet pack decent. And of course the rocket I fired as it went black didn’t kill the target. How convienant.
