Why does halo infinite feel so bulky? I have an Xbox One S, so it’s not the most current machine. But when I go back to halo MCC, MCC is drastically more clean and fluid than infinite is? Is it because of the console that I have? I think the One S runs at 30 FPS right? Does MCC run higher? Would the series X solve this bulkiness and make infinite feel more fluid-like what MCC feels like?
Does anyone have any tips? I enjoy the gameplay but it just doesn’t feel smooth and as fluid-like MCC does.
The best way I can describe it is that MCC feels like the call of duty franchise, and Infinite feels like the battlefield franchise. It’s just bulky.
I know it might be sacrilege to rag on the xbone on a halo forum, but those last gen consoles are oversized room heaters full of bloatware imo. Doesn’t help that infinite isn’t that optimized but I digress.
Playing on PC has spoiled me and if a game takes more than 30 seconds to launch/load/get to playing-
well that hasn’t happened, even in GTA5. But I’ve seen console players launch GTA online. Seen xbox players on the gearbox forum complain about the loading screens.
Those loading times add up and a prominent portion of your game time could very well be in a ton of loading screens.
I wouldn’t tolerate it.
PCs are fun once you get the ball rolling.
I’m not too worried about the loading aspect of the game., but the actual feel of the gameplay. Mid-game, I 'l be in a BR fight and it just feels bulky and doesn’t feel crisp. It doesn’t feel smooth, or super responsive. all my settings are the same, so I know it isn’t a sensitivity issue.
Wait. You never updated your controls? There was a consensus a while back that several specific settings needed to be adjusted in settings for the gunplay to even resemble MCC.
What do you mean update the controls? I’ve adjusted and played with the deadzons, and FOV and finally found where it feels decent. Am I missing something?
It’s the optimization (or lack there of) that you’re experiencing.
MCC is basically older software optimized to run on newer hardware, whereas Infinite is newer software optimized to run on newer systems.
The newer your system is (generally speaking) the better Infinite will perform.
The Xbox One was dated and underperforming hardware when it launched unfortunately, even the S model didn’t improve much. I hate to be that guy, but you’re not going to get many more years out of it.
30fps is playable, but 60fps has been consumer standard since well before Halo went 60fps officially. 30 is obsolete.
Gotcha, well that makes me feel a bit better about the overall game then. I had a feeling that was the case. I guess it’s time to go on the hunt for a series X!
I had this exact same problem. H5 and the MCC play fine but Infinite runs like hot garbage. I made the switch to PC and it plays beautifully. I also have a XB1S.
