Try this set up on your controller. I made it to feel like older Halos where B is melee and LT is nades but you don’t aim with the either stick as yeah it feels terrible to try to do that. It will also help with aiming feeling bad because the default scheme is clunky and i don’t like it.
I do go over that towards the bottom of the thread i shared. It only has a little over 30 comments so it shouldn’t be hard to find. Its more of a general guide line that seemed to help my friend out a lot but im not sure I could give a specific number to try out.
I think i play on max sensitivity and 105 FOV. I usually play most games on really high sensitivity and Halos max is so slow it kills me. Wish it could be about double what it is.
On top of that i will disclose i use a controller with trigger stoppers and paddles and a taller aiming stick. The controller definitely helps a ton and i might have still made Onyx without it but it would have taken much longer. It buffs you by about 30% if i had to guess.
I don’t understand the aiming in this game. For some games I barely touch my right stick and it my reticle flies across my screen, others it’s just right. It makes me upset to the point I don’t play for months, oh…wait, just like everyone else now.
Left stick aiming. Get it, understand it, utilize it… but hate it. It’s why Infinite feels stiff and odd compared to every other Halo. Acquiring a target in Halo was never the skill gap… mixing up strafe, movement and map maneuverability while keeping them on target was. This is the side of Infinite that is simply OFF and why I’ll never be able to enjoy the game like I do other Halo titles.
My friend you are right. The aim assist needs a nerf and not like the current nerf for long range. One that makes the battle rifle require usage of the right stick as well in closer ranges. The skill gap of using the br needs to be increased from close to medium range. The skill gap should be who can strafe and aim better and not who can abuse aim assist better.
