Why does halo 5 seem like a better game then infinite, in a lot of ways

Love H5 mp, like Inf mp. Different games with its pros and cons.
What I like about H5 movement is movement as a way to outplay someone.
What I like about Inf movement is its fluidity and it’s way more lighter and fluid than H5 exepts clamber maybe.

it launched without btb. you dont do that

Halo infinite launched without coop and forge, you don’t do that too  :joy:

Wrong it was also missing infection and grifball we had to wait to get those like what we’re doing again with infinite i don’t know the launch game modes that much all i knew is that grifball and infection wasn’t in that so i said nope until infection is in the game i see no reason in getting it

And yet Halo 5 had twice the amount of content per category than Infinite did day 1. Your argument of BTB is irrelevant.

It’s the opposite for me. Infinite’s gameplay is better only because there’s no abilities. 5’s controls were tight and responsive, probably the best in the series. Plus 5’s Mythic Arena playlist was perfect. Infinite feels like you’re ice skating everywhere and your reticle does what it wants. There’s crazy input lag on some guns like the sniper. You can’t even cancel reloads. The only problem 5 had was heavy aim, but at least aim assist always worked. Infinite’s aim assist is schizophrenic.

One word for you : Warzone.

H5 controls was responsive but everything was heavier a lot plus that small field of view.
In Inf everything feels lighter, strafing is faster, you can slide right after sprint starts and i like it very much.

The strafing is a lot better. It’s the “grippiness” though It has that Far Cry feel like you’re gliding. This is just preference.

so did h5 except for co-op(you can play co-op in infinite if you are on xbox though) but infinite has split screen.

how so? can you list h5 day 1 game modes?
because i can list all the infinite day 1 game modes

thats the problem they shafted btb for warzone just like the full customization infinite shafted for stupid armor cores.

Armor Cores are a nice touch though.
The only issue is that cross-customization is not yet available; but rumored to be in the works for non-fractures armor cores.

yeah it was confirmed i think

Neat.
Now the Rakshasa Locus helmet will be available on Mark V Bravo and Mark VII Armor Cores!

To start off with the reason I’ll go one by one with campaign, multiplayer and then content.

Campaign: While a low point compared to other games, Guardians at least had some thought with level design and there’s a story. It achieves the bare minimum despite execution being poor. Infinite from start to finish is barely a campaign. To not sound elitist I’ll explain exactly why it’s incomplete despite being so long compared to every other title.

  1. No character development. Chief and Cortana are so one dimensional and flat that start to finish they are still the same. No changes, nothing. Not an ounce of character development. The story also doesn’t progress at all, seeing how you are in a losing fight, turning none of the tides. Whether you finish the game or not, it makes no difference. This campaign is so discouraging to play that you don’t have any incentive. Factor in xp, replay value is essentially dead.

  2. Multiplayer: Guardians has variety with game modes. Tons more. Also a server browser. Infinite lacks this choice and if I recall, isn’t custom games not working for Infinite at the moment? Regardless, the multiplayer is dry in comparison. I do enjoy the new game mode but that’s it.

Content: Guardians in fact added things as time went on, even though it wasn’t free at all to play. That’s a bad look for a free to play live service game.

There is good news though. Infinite will eventually be better. It just isn’t right now.

List of Halo 5 content day 1:

Maps:

Warzone: A.R.C, Apex 7, Stormbreak 3 maps

Warzone Assault: Dispatch, Array, Summmit 3 maps

Arena: Coliseum, Eden, Empire, Fathom, Orion, Pegasus, Plaza, Regret, The Rig, Truth 10 maps

Breakout: Altitude, Crossfire, Gambol, Trench, Trident 5 maps

All in all that’s a total of 21 maps on day 1.

Here are the game types:

Team Arena, Slayer, Breakout, FFA, SWAT, Warzone, and Warzone Assault 6 total game types.

So 21 maps and 6 total game types, probably a couple of gametypes I missed, but still this is proof Halo 5 launched with more content day 1 than Infinite. Your argument of “But it’s missing btb” isn’t relevant here, stop goalpost moving.

H5 was the worst Halo ever created. The Art-Style, COD running animation… it was truly horrible…

how not? its a legacy feature that was missing from the game replaced by warzone.

Infinite has a lot of issues.

But, only speaking for myself, it’s so much better than either Halo 4 or 5 ever were, owing purely to it having the best core gameplay and aesthetic foundation of the three by a lot.

That’s just my two cents for my individual tastes, but I absolutely don’t understand the sudden revisionist history take that H5 should be such a beloved game all the sudden.

It’s not relevant because BTB doesn’t represent ALL the content in Halo. As soon as someone makes a point to you that Halo 5 did in fact have more day 1 content than Infinite you immediately try to goalpost move by saying “well Halo 5 didn’t have btb day 1” as if that negates the argument, it doesn’t.

Yes Halo 5 WAS missing content day 1, nobody is denying that, but Halo 5 still LAUNCHED with more content than Infinite day 1 and Halo 5 day 1 STILL has more content than Infinite, hell if we compare timelines Halo 5 had about 3 or 4 MAJOR updates with several new maps and game modes added by this point in it’s life.

Halo 5 was for all intensive purposes a better live service game than Infinite will ever be.

Because Infinite’s Core gameplauy in reality isn’t as good as people claim. If it were, the game wouldn’t have lost the vast majority of it’s playerbase in less than a year. Halo 3 didn’t, Halo Reach sure as hell didn’t, not even Halo 4 lost players as fast as Infinite.

People need to take off the nostalgia blinders and realize that Infinite is an objectively bad game.
