Sorry Infinite is trash. Halo 5 was a lot of fun for me.
And that’s okay. I don’t have any problem with that. I’m just putting it out there that Halo 5’s linear based mission kept me playing.
If infinite could capture some of that, it would be for the better.
Because a great majority of the hate directed towards Halo 5 was misplaced.
Seem? No, more like it is because it’s structure. Infinite structure is literally a disaster especially knowing the live service, BP, shop.
Those 3 things screwed up the entire game and I think we should give the higher-ups a standing ovation for completely screwing up Halo.
Mabey this was the plan ever since halo 5s release.
Halo 5 was what we call bad back then. So the only way 343I could make it good was by creating a worse game to make it look better.
This is a joke, right? Were you even on Waypoint at the time when H5G released?
What wasn’t complained about when H5G released?
Story was garbage
False advertising
3/15 missions Chief
Eternal Warden Eternal fights for all eternity
Horrendous Team AI in Campaign
Aim Down Sights
Sprint
Clamber
Spartan Charge!
Multiplayer lacked content
Multiplayer too sweaty
Multiplayer too noob-friendly (yeah, we had both complaints)
No splitscreen
No Forge
RNG “progression” system
Pay2Win Lootbox Gambling
Reduced customization compared to previous games
Forced online connection for all but campaign (i.e. no more LAN parties)
Still no playable Elites
And then there are still all the leftovers from Halo 4, like the artstyle change for no reason at all (which actually got worse, with countless vehicles suddenly being redesigned for no reason as well, such as the Ghost or Wraith)
Yeah, Infinite has a lot of those criticisms too, but to pretend that H5G didn’t is either incredibly dishonest or genuinely out of touch with reality.
whiles halo 5 is not what i would consider a proper halo game… it is currently much more fun than infinite
Claimed by pseudo-critics who have not the wherewithal to write a story themselves.
What false advertising? Defend Earth? Believe? Oh wait, those were for different games. Did you mean subverted expectations?
No rule stating that a story must be told from the perspective of the protagonist, I often refer to Shawshank Redemption as a great example. Regardless, Chief and Locke play mostly the same.
As to not make the player overly reliant on them.
Which functions more like the usual zoom function featured in other Halo games and less like a traditional ADS mechanic found in other shooters. The only significant difference is the cosmetic aspect.
Controversial, not a bad thing.
Amusing how it never dawns on the Halo community that certain mechanics can be nerfed if they happen to be too oppressive.
Despite launching with the most content out of any Halo and added more within months up to a year.
Then either one is incorrect, or both are incorrect.
A feature considered niche in the modern era of gaming where most games no longer enable it. While its presence was missed, it’s hardly consequential to the game’s quality. If Halo is “centralized” around split-screen, then it’s no wonder the franchise is incredibly unpopular to most players. Not because would dislike the feature, but because most players have their own means of playing without the need for split-screen.
Until a month and a half after release, and is regarded to be the best Forge mode in the franchise. One could say the short wait was worth it, especially in contrast to Halo Infinite still not having the mode now three months after release.
Which bears a lot of resemblance to Halo Reach’s progression system, only with RNG. Ideally, Halo 4 had the best progression system with a selective “prestige” system.
Lootboxes that are attainable with earned in-game currency with the option of expedition by using real money, and sandbox loot delegated to a singular gamemode that is designed to not favour players who spend more money. Warzone restricts over-requisitioning said loot with the REQ level and REQ energy systems.
Yet contains more customization combinations than any of the Halo games, even if you omit the variants, despite being restricted to three components. Already more appealing than what ever Halo Infintie is going for.
Like split-screen, LAN parties are also niche and sparsely spread for the same reason: most players have their own means of playing with their own equipment.
Nothing but fan-service. 'Tis but a petty thing to condemn a game for.
Controversial, not a bad thing. There are factors in play that justify the change in artstyle that stretches from in-universe to modern artistic interpretation.
Please don’t paint people as dishonest or “genuinely out of touch with reality”.
No. Absolutely not.
Ugh this limit.
Marvellous rebuttal.
Split-screen was in every Halo until 5.
And Halo 5 had to make compromises to run steadily.
Was the bulk of your playtime split-screen? Or alone? Does everyone else share this sentiment?
Not likely.
For what? Graphics? I’d care LESS about graphics. I’d sacrifice them for split-screen.
60 FPS.
Remember, Halo 5 also ran on a dynamic resolution for the same reason.
I beg to differ. If I liked nostalgia I would go back to halo 3. Halo 5 is just the previous game that is more functional. Simple, that’s it. It’s not like I’m looking for a complete replica of halo 3, if I was I would say that the game should get rid of sprint and get rid of the new weapon types and such. Infinite is just broken rn and needs to be fixed.
BECAUSE HALO 5 IS A BETTER GAME IN EVERY WAY.
In fact, Halo Spartan assault is superior to Halo Infinite.
Hindsight is twenty twenty. Like going back to watch last Jedi once you’ve seen rise of Skywalker. You realize it’s actually a decent film once you’ve seen something that is actually really bad.
if you like 5 you can go play it. There is no need for yo to play infinite. Let it do its things
Yeah the general community would beg to differ.H5 is soooo good that it stoped recieving updates a long time ago… Its soo good that people say that its beta was much better than the final game. Its soo good that it has even less players than mcc on.( even less than reach on steam)
Only if you can properly quantify the “general community”.
